  • You Live What You Eat? Connecting Metabolism to Lifespan [View article]
Intriguing! Extending lifespan is appealing to many people, especially to many of us Boomers. However, extending lifespan is appealing only if it's a pleasant and worthwhile experience - otherwise death might be more favorable. So, if extending lifespan becomes more of a reality, there will be a host of sociological, psychological and ethical issues to wrestle with, as well.

  • Sprint: A Positive Service Experience? [View article]
Todd Sullivan's article caught my attention because I'm a Sprint subscriber who is fast approaching the end of my contract and I've been thinking a lot about what I'm going to do. In the beginning of my contract whenever I had a service issue, I had terrible experiences with Sprint Customer Service. I had transitioned from Nextel to Sprint to save money and because I didn't use the walkie-talkie feature. The merger of these two companies has not gone well. In fact, from what I have read and experienced they still operate as two separate companies. It seems to me that the merger between HP and Compaq was carried out more adroitly than the Sprint-Nextel marriage. Along with exceedingly poor customer service, Sprint has also the worst dropped call record. In my travels I often go by car or train and I generally experience a rash of dropped calls. And lastly, I resent the way that Sprint tries to add a year to my contract everytime I try to do something to make my cellular experience more appealing. So Sprint execs, if you're listening, you've got approximately six weeks to do something exceptional to persuade me to renew - otherwise I'm gone!
