  • Molycorp turns green as CEO sees positive cash flow by late 2014/early 2015 [View news story]
They are surviving if they are able to reduce operating costs (like gas produces for example), but stocks will bounce only if RE are bouncing...anyway I'm very bullish on US growth.

there is something I don't understand...If EPS is nearly in line, but sales are strongly higher, margins are collapsing? So in CHK case means they sold more gas at a lower price than forecast?

  • The Stars Have Aligned For Molycorp [View article]
Price targets in such a difficult environment are nearly useless. EPS and backlog visibility is very low and Moly management history is not very successful.
Anyway, shorting the stock here is very risky too....

  • A Colder Than Normal Winter Should Throw Natural Gas Into Backwardation [View article]
Now the natural gas fwd curve is flat or in a slight backwardation for 2014/2015 maturities.
This curve shape discounts a possible increase of the offer in few days if necessary.
On the other side, it doesn't discount financial and technical problems of single producers. They could have different production costs and very high capital requirments, so they could prefer not to sell at these prices.
Don't forget utilities switches to nat gas, logistic investments, Panama in 2014 and LNG plants working in 2015.
I personally think we'll go back to contango in few months.

  • No Love For The Coffee Market? [View article]
Long term coffee will go up, no way. Offer takes few years to build and financially is not convenient at these prices.
Short term we need a catalyst to change the trend.....meteo, speculation?

  • No Love For The Coffee Market? [View article]
Coffee will need a lot of patience...all softs are smashed. Market actually doesn't price any bad news (freezing or excess rain in a producing country) for coffee and cocoa.
High risk of stop losses if there is a surprise.....
