funny I see just the opposite,
seeing ACI's interest payments is larger than 2014 gross profit, while ANR's, despite almost greater rev decline, maintaines gross profit above interest payments, if would be easier for ANR to raise more debt than ACI
yet ACI is trading at higher P/S valuation than ANR.
    go figure

  • Turnaround Happening At magicJack [View article]
many microcaps ran up in 2013 and gave up much of the gain in 2014, I own at least 4 of them. incl:CALL, sigh.....
but MJ go is a major product upgrade, everything is riding on the roll out!
the new Vento/Gordo/Mcdonald management seems very competent, but their past accomplishment is no guarantee of future, like anything involving risk.
if consumers sign up in droves, then 2015 looks great! CALL could double and triple
    if not well, don't ask.

yep, recovery will be modest at best, and will take 4-6 years. this down cycle is turning out to be the most savage of the last 25 years, the up cycle will be slow and gradual.
brightside is: holding coal stocks will be at least 4-6 year journey, but will be very fruitful. ANR ACI BTU CLD

it seems ANR has less debt/equity but greater rev. decline. than ACI
but for PRB, i'd rather own CLD than ACI.
since thermal coal probably has less likely to recover as much as met.
ANR has twice the upside for the same downside risk

i love all this gloom and doom, if the march bottom holds up again, and so far so good, RSX/RSXJ will probably be among the best performing ETF's in next 4-5 years,

yep, ANR ACI BTU CLF WLT is a rare situation where SP500 is near all time highs and a entire essential industry/global stocks are at a decade lows. reminds me of REIT's in 2000, EM in 1998

useless bearish predictions. especially thinking lower EIA projected coal production= bad?
at this phase of the cycle, less production is bullish for coal prices
ANR is survivor and industry stalwart.
Banks will continue lending to it, and Rice energy shares also helps.

Mudder: you should be a poet, not an investor.
stay bearish as the whole coal sector bottom and the long awaited up cycle take hold and ANR recover to book. for a 4 bagger!

  • An Incredible Opportunity... In Europe [View article]
i've owned VGK too, did fine. but prefer country funds
the north european/nordic growth stocks are over-valued, if you own VGK you are over-diversified.
EWI, GREK, and RSX are the deep cyclicals to play the recovery. so far it's been decent.

yep, one 3 bagger every other year can do wonders. even in a small 10 stock port. I'm on my 8th one now with QCOR, depsite having been wiped-out 10 times . sure has been a emotional roller coaster tho. altho rules are never pick another foreign ADR, financial, or utility.

PE forward or backwards is nearly useless,
EWI is cheap on PB but seem expensive on PE b/c of large financial exposure to the overleveraged banks that got recapitalized and diluted.
since Norway banks avoided recapitalization and their economy is export driven to russia, the PE seems low but PB seems high!

bet on EWI if you believe in Eni, Enel, and the banking sector resuming their dividends someday.
cheapest stocks are still found in Greece!
