I guess it depends on your time line. "C" at a target of $23 over the next 12-15 months is out there, but not unbelievable. The largest gains are made by buying near the bottom. I agree that you should never listen to the sell-side analysts.
One of the most important aspects of the American economy is our financial system, an essential part of capitalism. Raise interest rates and the money center banks and I-banks will become technically insolvent. We are between a rock and a hard place. Not one politican has mentioned sacrifice, conservation or a Marshall Plan to develop alternative fuels (somehow anathema to neocons). Obama is an unlnown risk and McCain is wedded to the past. High fuel costs are here to stay and we need to adapt. Capital preservation is paramount. Newt is both educated and dangerous.
