  • Advanced Micro Devices Set To Grow [View article]
This turnaround story is in the middle, but it is clear, that the course is set right and very very probably we will see its successful finish in late 2015.

For me, it means to let my AMD shares rest awhile on my account and to start to look for the next one turnaround story, which maybe is starting somewhere right now.

  • What You Should Know Going Into Advanced Micro Devices' Q1 Earnings Report And Outlook For 2014 [View article]
@fiberton: H2 will be excellent. Current analysts predictions of forward EPS are too small, reality will be better.

Market can absorb good guidance after this ER into price and it moves up or can ignore it because fears/uncertainity or any other reasons. Low market value of AMD is another risk, SP can be driven any direction for weeks by manipulation, more than 60% of shares outstanding are in hands of retail...
Hard to decide today, but very probably we have next quarter open for next interesting trading. But in what levels we will know during Easter.

  • What You Should Know Going Into Advanced Micro Devices' Q1 Earnings Report And Outlook For 2014 [View article]
@standupWall: I have similar, very strong feeling according to Apple. If it will change into reality, it will improve anticipation of the AMD brand, what I see as very important for AMD and for OEMs too, because I still see their brand like something what is cheap, inferior and not much suitable for more demanding retail customers or for corporate IT infrastructure.
It is changing, but slowly and brands like Apple can kick that right and faster way. Here is Apple trash can, ... X2 is incoming to the market, new ntbks like 4k Toshiba and so on, but it is not sufficient. It needs one or two big kicks in retail ( ntbks, convertibles, tablets) and in corporate world too ( servers, cryptography/security).

  • AMD: Will The Market Surprise Us? No Sell-Off After Earnings? [View article]
I am thinking to hedge myself today by short selling CFDs a few minutes before close. It will freeze my possible losses or gains aftermarket, but I am not sure yet. Tick tack, only 10 hours and 18 minutes to decide.

  • Why AMD Is A Good Short To $3.00 [View article]
@neo: I did it too, not because weak and factually misleading article, saying it politely, but because his responses to comments are extremely attacking. But I am not sure, I did good thing, because deleting his responses cannot help late readers to better understand author's qualities.

It will be good to propose SA chief editor to add authors name after headline of announced articles, because it can help to select, what to open ( and to give penny to an author) and what do not. It may help decrease number of articles done only for "click" reasons, which are raising here dramatically.

Reading authors comments, hmm, most arrogant and attacking writer I ever seen here in SA.
I admire Tri Duong's calm responses.

  • Advanced Micro Devices - Should You Sell? [View article]
@AE: you missed the point. I did not write the article is biased, I only reacted to silly author's comment, that he made money with his approach on MSFT, than it works...
There is no simple investment or trading approach applicable generally.

Confirmation bias tuned to perfection, I remember, I read a few masterpieces here and at MF and that articles were signed by someone probably using your name. Sometimes your articles are readable, sometimes it is something crossing all good manners.

  • Thursday Will Likely Center Around PCs For AMD [View article]
As usually, well informative article, without headline cheap screams like "Avoid AMD", "BUY NOW", " AMD is Finished" and so on. It is good that every stock has at least one its balanced writer here.

  • Advanced Micro Devices - Should You Sell? [View article]
Author’s reply » I like simple models. Made me buy msft at $29 and sell at $37. Otherwise how do you know at what price it is worth selling your stock?

Made you profit with MSFT does not mean your model is good or is good to follow it.

I like "holistic approach" which includes more mental work and experiences, but brings more fruits. Examples: NOK bought at $3 levels, sold from $6 to $8.20. TSLA bought at 28, sold over $100, over 100 only traded it, KNDI bought at $4.000 and sold around $20. My other significant gains in the last year were from AMD, FB, GE, MSFT, IBM, ALSK, LULU, CY, ORCL, ...around 30 titles, only with the one finished in red, Pandora, because I forgot look deeper into ownership structure. I found one name inside and I knew I am in the trap and I was not able to find quick solution how to deal it, I hedged and sold it later will small loss around $900.
I am long AMD, around 1 hour daily investing into AMD research. Your article did not help me to reveal anything valuable, only confirmed my opinion, that 80% of contributors here with word "research" in their names have nothing common with serious research.

@JJ: Is the absence of AMD CPUs inside DELL result of INTC MDF, or lasting Dell's slave position to INTC (described well in the book "Slingshot") or is it simply because AMD has nothing competitive to offer for DELL?
I do not know, what reason is the main...

Btw, thank you for interesting reading.

  • AMD Recapturing Market Share With Mantle And Consoles [View article]
This play has to be a part of everyone portfolio, who can digest modest risk.
As you said, everything what AMD have done last few years has sense, is better managed then years before and, what is most significant, is a part of new big AMD picture.
