  • Plum Creek Timber - A Unique REIT Worth Watching [View article]
No skin in the game means no credibility. There are heckuva lot of 4% or better yielders out there to consider before PCL.

  • Altria: This One's Smoking [View article]
Mr. Bazil, "it's" is a contractiion for" it is"; "its" indicates ownership. The article did not add to my knowledge and so, unfortunately, was a a waste of my time. Lastly, when you endorse a stock as a "buy" and neither own nor plan to own it, your endorsement lacks credibility. as you have no skin in the game. Sorry.

"penetration is going nowhere but up".

That may or may not be true for PM, but it clearly is not true for MO and RAI as USA smoking population is in a long term downward trend.

BTW, skin in the game enhances credibility.

    Long MO, PM, RAI

  • Why Investors Are Nervous About Altria's Future [View article]
    FWIW, am a religous person.
I wonder why the the Star of David is shown as the writer's logo or picture and how appropriate that is. How would the author feel if a crucifix was used by SA authors?
The blatant use of a religous symbol does not seem consistent with the goals of this medium or the interests of its audience, unless the author's strategy is to grow his audience among the subset that shares his belief system and culture.
Frankly, who cares what religion you adhere to, Vatalyst?
What we care about is quality of content. On that count, there is room for improvement.

MO has been my best performer. The article is poorly reasoned. No one cares about the issues he mentions as bring reasons for it to decline. No one.

Glad you know that you are happy with MO. When you are unhappy do you use a tiny font size?

Solid thinking, Tim. I am long MS and will buy more. I am less sanguine about BAC and C, preferring to go with larger regionals like PNC.

  • Showdown: General Electric Vs. Honeywell [View article]
How long must we wait for Immelt to do what he was hired to do? GE has been dead money for too long. I have no confidence any more in what was considered America's best managed company.

Disclosure: I am a former GE manager.

  • Why General Electric's Buyback Is A Raw Deal For Shareholders [View article]
How does Immelt keep his job? His record is awful. When will the BOD take action? I am a former GE employee and current stockholder who has watched a great company become mediocre under his direction. And publicly supporting Obama and his programs is a great way to generate controvery and alienate many customers.

  • Apple: The Best Friend A Mobile Carrier Can Have [View article]
Go to a Verizon store; ask for an Iphone.. They will do all they can to sell you something else. It is apparent that is a management strategy deployed at the street level. It stinks.

  • Frontier Communications: Why This High-Dividend Stock Is A Buy [View article]
I am long FTR by buying another 1000 shares each time there is a 50 cent drop. The comparison chart to ETFs is giving me the heebee-jeebees. Say a prayer for Narrowback.

  • iPhone 5: How Good Is Good Enough? [View article]
And Google and Samsung are small?
My point was not about size. It was simply that technically (per your article) there are equal if not better products features than Apple's.. There are equal if not better cars than Porsche, feature -wise. But, they are less desirable because they are less fashionable.

When was the last time you read about someone being robbed for their Droid?
