Retired. Now that I have retired, I view my railroad retirement annuity and pension as the fixed income parts of my portfolio, an idea I got from a SA contributor. That shift in perspective has enabled me to move out of the balanced mix of ETFs and CEFs that I formerly used, and buy positions mostly in dividend stocks in our accounts. I look for dividend growth stocks, hoping to increase our income stream from them. At this point I reinvest the dividends in the stocks that I consider to be core stocks. I am grateful to the Seeking Alpha community for their willingness to share so much information and resources that have helped me learn more about and implement the dividend growth strategy.
