  • Jim Cramer Sells Linn Energy, So You Can Be Sure I Am Going To Buy [View article]
Jim Cramer is sometimes right, and sometimes wrong. He is not infallible.
Just like Buffett, or any of the talking heads on TV.
You have to find your own style of investing that you are comfortable with, then do your own research to find investments that fit your style.
    I prefer dividend growth investing.

As my Mom said, If Jim Cramer told you to jump off a bridge, would you do it?

I will hold my LINE and LNCO. I didn't sell last year, and wont sell this year.

  • Enbridge pipeline faces new costs and conditions, but not Keystone-style carbon test [View news story]
Green Peace announced they will oppose Northern Gateway in the courts and with civil disobedience, and promised it will never be built.
They are "wackos" in my book.
    Pseudo religious fanatics.

  • Keystone seen as bigger for oil sands producers than builder TransCanada [View news story]
Keystone would be beneficial to both the US and Canada.
Pres Obama is a fool. This is a missed opportunity.

  • Barrick Gold Shakes Up Management, But I'm Still Not Buying [View article]
I bought ABX at $50 and sold at $30 when they fired the last CEO, now its at $15.
When they fired Aaron Regent CEO they also announced they would not build Donlin Creek or Cerro Casale. They have since stopped work on Pasua Lama, after 5-6 billion $ down the drain.
Seems the business model is broken, gold miners can no longer pour billions into remote deposits with difficult logistics.
At this point Barricks is just trying to patch up the balance sheet until gold prices go up again.
It was reported the new Chairman is trying to raise new money in China. Doesnt sound good for existing shareholders.
I am not touching any of the miners at this point.

  • No Worries: Apache Is On The Right Track [View article]

Hopefully APA goes up before Aug, as I am down 25% on the preferred.

  • 5 Commodity Stocks Moving On News [View article]
Today the Market was up, WTI was up, but Apache went down.
    Seems like a bad indicator.
I am holding APA at least until the next Q Report in May.

  • What To Think When A Pundit Says, 'I'm Out Of The Market' [View article]
I guess Gartman missed the all time high on the Dow.

How does a person get to be a regular on CNBC?

Does he get a salary from CNBC to make bold predictions?

  • EOG Resources (EOG -0.6%) is the “big winner” in the shale-gas deal between Chevron (CVX -0.9%) and Apache (APA -1.6%), UBS analysts write in a note to clients. EOG will realize an estimated $450M "for exiting a project it had little interest in pursuing," UBS says, while the deal likely will cause capital expenditure concerns for CVX and APA. [View news story]
This is great for APA. This means the Kitimat LNG project gets built alot sooner than it would have. CVX has the money, and expertise, to push ahead.

  • Penn West Exploration Is Trading Well Below Intrinsic Value [View article]
They fired 4 VPs. Selling $1.3B noncore assets to patch up balance sheet. Stock price down 50% this year. None of this sounds good.
Plus side: Q4 div 27 cents is unchanged. Maybe this puts a floor under stock price, at least for the short term.
I may sell if there is a bounce.
Better to own LNCO or APA or OXY.
