CVX has a 18 Billion dollar tab down in South America that needs to be addressed. Plus XOM with that Nat gas position makes it a better bet then CVX.

  • Baytex Energy Offers A 6.90% Yield And Production Growth [View article]
Market all time high, and the stock is 38. The dividend needs to be cut because heavy oil is in trouble . No interest in this name at all. Better off with SU and writing calls against the stock for yield.

  • Cuts in U.S. government spending have been much larger in percentage terms than in the U.K. or the EU, says the Boston Fed's Eric Rosengren, calling economic progress frustrating and shocking no one by reiterating the Fed's highly accommodative stance remains appropriate for now. [View news story]

  • BP is calling in the big guns for help mitigating claims tied to the 2010 Gulf oil spill. The company wants British Prime Minister David Cameron to talk with U.S. officials regarding escalating payment claims, some of which BP says are "fictitious" and increasingly "absurd." The company has set aside more than $8B to cover so-called business economic losses. [View news story]
I have personally called BP no less then 3 times telling them NOT to pay 85% of those claims, they are bogus. That event was worth 2 billion at best.

  • ConocoPhillips Reaches A Transformational Inflection Point - Time To Buy [View article]
I like COP but not with the market up here, going to wait for the stock to trade under 60. I am starting to look into IMO down here, what a bargain for the only AAA rated industrial company in Canada.

  • Why President Obama Will Approve Keystone XL And Why TransCanada's Shares Will Soar [View article]
This XL pipeline has now become a big joke being played out by the "keystone cops" in Washington. It's not that difficult and what Joe Oliver needs to do after lunch today is this. Call the President and ask him this, Mr President, XL Pipeline ,YES or NO???? If yes, then fine, if no then all Canadian exports of oil to the U.S stop by July 4th of this year. Lets see what that does to the U.S economy?? Happy birthday U.S and they build a pipeline East and West regardless.

MPC looks like it is rolling over, if I sold a 75 naked put I would consider buying a 72.50 as a hedge. Look at SU , they operate 4 refineries. Only a thought.
