  • Report: Rio Tinto considering making a bid for Turquoise Hill [View news story]
The mine is worth zero, is in Mongolia. If the mine was in lets say Canada, then a totally different story. If TRQ offers 8.00, investors should count their lucky stars.

The last time I followed this company was in 2006, and now 8 years later it's still the same price. Better places to put your money and this is not one of them.

  • The Keystone Pipeline: Challenges And Alternatives [View article]
I called TRP two weeks ago and asked them to get a message to the CEO. They, TRP should announce that the XL is on hold and no longer an issue at this time. The reason is because the company cannot deal with the current administration after the last 5 years. Maybe embarrassment is worth a try.

Shell should add some form of a contaminate that when used will melt the inside of an engine. Start up the pipeline and let the thieves work their magic, sit back and wait. Do this for a period of 4 weeks.

  • Seadrill: Short-Term Troubles, Long-Term Growth [View article]
I have seen this no less then 100 times, company raises the dividend like mad, stock drops sending the yield through the roof and now the mgmt cuts the dividend to a more realistic level. I think even a company like NOV may limp along for 1-2 years. The opinion from the above poster, coolbluelake is dead on, throw MRO,DVN, and even a few of the Canadian names in that just steam it out of the ground instead of drilling in open water, it's safer and cheaper at this time to be on land. Just look at PBR going broke.
