Chesapeake Energy (CHK) discloses it is substantially reducing executive annual incentive compensation for 2012, during which CEO Aubrey McClendon will receive no bonus. McClendon also will reimburse CHK for his personal use of company aircraft in excess of $250K. [View news story]
Day late, Dollar short? Should have happened several years ago, if I had any input, he (Audry) would be gone. How one narcissistic guy can almost destroy a company is beyond me. But I have to give him credit, he almost has succeeded. Why he should be able to tool around on personal business at share holders expense is just a real kick in their teeth. Got out of this XXX stock, but still have some LEAPS. Can't do that Kim, Audry might have to take a chauffeured bus.
AIG's (AIG) advertising tagline at the moment may be "Thank you America," but it's board will today consider joining a $25B lawsuit that's being led by former CEO and major investor Maurice Greenberg against the government. The suit argues that the heavy demands of AIG's rescue, such as the government taking a 92% stake and the high interest rate rates levied, deprived shareholders of tens of billions of dollars and violated the Fifth Amendment. I would just like to point out that FCX management WAS running MMR , and PXP, so nothing has really changed, other than some paper shuffled around. Black Rock was the only Representative complaining at the report where the purchase was being discussed, other than a few share holders on SA. Like it or hate it, it's not up to you, the decision has been made, Jim Bob is getting some big bucks to make these strategic decisions. You and I have two choices, buy or sell, only you can make that decision. I bought. I did learn one thing tho, stop limits are beautiful, for me from day one of the purchase, yeah I might have to buy back in at a higher price, but I may also buy back in at a lower price. I do see one good thing about this trade, PXP and MMR are drilling in good old fashioned oil fields, not this shale BS. If they do hit oil or gas it's not going to taper off in the next month or two. Let's face it, when you buy a company, your betting on the management. You could be holding HP. Count your blessings.

1/3/13 Update. FSLR up $+2.42 (7.57%) People get burned everyday on Chinese stock Companies, do yourself a favor and let the big boys leave their money in China. I have been in FSLR since 8/12 and going to stay there with a trailing stop. If it even starts to look nasty, buying some puts. Back when FSLR was in the low $20.s I'm telling to myself, this can't last, now at almost $35.00 I'm telling myself, it's time to get some more. Go you guys in AZ, make more Thin Film today!
"Forever scarred" I received my lessons about 25 yrs ago with a THAI co. "King Duty Free". I use to travel quite a bit and KDF has most of the SE Asian Airports tied up with stores. I was returning from Macau in DEC. "Last" year, plane was late, then delayed, and I couldn't even go buy anything. KDF has Macau Airport sewed up tight, I wouldn't be surprised if they owned the food outlets also. I'm not allowed to play with penny stocks, but I would take most of them over the China stocks, at least I'm aware that I'm a subject to a good screwing. Good Luck people.

About the only thing I see that tends to excite me are the Press Releases from most of the micro mining Cos. We have this, and we have that, we are going to do this, and that, but the only thing I see happening is the extension of warrants (who has these warrants?, Insiders?). Just imagine, if some of the hype occurred, I could be a happy camper There is no one who wants to get into a "great mining Co", more than me. And I'm looking as you can see. I looked at some of the charts of these "micro" mining cos and it looks like they all use the same play book, we are going to..., we have ..., but again no where do I see anything they have done. Companies make good money mining just plain rock, coal, gypsum, phosphate and other common materials, but yet these "penny" co's. have all this stuff, going to do all these things, but yet never make any money, Working with high value materials. What am I missing? Oh I have found one co. Not the greatest but there is hope, one of the bigger investment managers have demanded the Chairman and CEO retire, if he does, I'm in. The Gamble, The premium on a LEAP call. At least they make "some" profit. A bunch of folks sent me an invite to join them in FCX a couple of weeks ago, and boy did I jump on it. Management, that's what it all about. Good luck and a very Happy New Years from the Philippines.

Great article. Not the Co, but the advise. A lot of guys selling their news letter and hyping penny stocks NEVER give examples, only buy advice on garbage. So I want to thank you as I want to start trading options. Your the only one that I have found the gives some examples.

These numbers add up to ? The important thing to me is that the board has changed where Mr.. Big Dealer, or Mr.. Wheel and Deal can no longer use CHK as his personal piggy bank. IMO, these numbers just cloud the trees so that no"investor" can see the forest. MMR is a perfect point. I picked up 1K of MMR @ $9.00, less than 10 days later, $15.00, was it the numbers that made me buy or was it a gamble (investment)? I think maybe that was Russ's point and I followed it. My calls are down a little bit but so what. When the earnings come out in Jan, they will be up...or down. If they are up great, if not then I still have a year to bail at a small loss or even a gain in next three earnings calls.I have been playing with CHK for over a year, Over all at a small profit, but with the calls I don't have as much cash tied up, and my potential losses are limited. Been doing this for a few years, investing that is and I would still prefer to be lucky than good.Thx Russ for the head's up.

Give it up please, Liberal- Conservative is just a label, the labels can not define a person. Am I a piece of crap because I think anyone working should be able to afford Food/Shelter. Am I a bad guy because I think these wall st. charlatans are over compensated, and would sell their mother in a heartbeat? Is Aubrey whatshisname at chk any better than a convicted thief? And there are plenty of bad guys around wearing white hats, labeling themselves this or that? @71 let me be the first one to inform you that you come into this world naked, and for all purposes you leave the same way. If you worship the $$ to the extent of these multi-moguls, then be envious of everyone else trying to cover and feed themselves. but let go of the label.
