  • J.C. Penney (JCP) confirms Ron Johnson is "stepping down and leaving the company." Mike Ullman, who was J.C. Penney's CEO until Nov. 2011, is replacing Johnson as CEO, and has also been elected to the company's board. Investors don't seem crazy about the choice, JCP now just +0.5% AH. (previous) Update (5:33): Shares are now down 4.4% AH. [View news story]
Put a stake in JCP. i was looking forward to shopping there once they got around to refurbishing the stores in my area. Now i don't expect i will ever visit the local store. I stopped visiting their stores, and Sears as well years ago. Kohls and Macys are about the only stores i will ever visit. I dont get TJMax either. Their stores are dreadful around here with very sparse merchandise.

  • Creative Destruction And The Pharmaceutical Industry [View article]
Makes you think. This is an exciting direction. One barrier to all this is how will customized medication get regulatory approval? How will they do trials and get them approved? Won't there be legal implications and thus barriers to treatment. Each failure most likely result in a lawsuit. What are your thoughts on this? Seems like this has huge obstacles to implementation.
