  • Expedia Is Flying Too High For Comfort [View article]
i am tired of seeing the trivago ad with that guy with shirts down to his knees. Very unsettling. Who the heck approved those ads? I have looked at the site and adds limited value. I will stick with Priceline.

  • Lumber Liquidators: Brand Damage Will Extend Beyond Chinese Laminate Segment [View article]
I think the FEMA compare is useful. It may be a little low. My case is $300 in flooring, $50 for test kit (still waiting results). Not sure what an install is; maybe $400? That matches up with your FEMA based estimate.

I was a customer but will go elsewhere from now on. I purchased a formaldahyde monitor for $50 to see if i have to rip up my flooring. My take is they screwed up and can't be trusted.

Well, we shall see, as they report March 16. I would expect a good to blowout quarter or they will drop below $1 and be on the pink sheets. I don't see LaPenta and Schafer letting that happen.

good thought and a good thing to do perhaps but if so it should have been put forth as a factor in rising expenses.

  • Bloomberg: Apple's first car could arrive by 2020 [View news story]
I would question an Apple Car. I think they are quite a bit smarter than Google in investing money and not pissing it away. What I would believe is Apple could take over control of the vehicle entertainment complex. Something like a built in Apple phone, internet capability, TV, radio. All the bells and whistles.

it is not good business to drive your suppliers bankrupt. i have to believe apple knows that. so they either had a jackass handling this deal or this supplier did some very funny stuff.

  • Should Cisco Split? [View article]
One of IBMs downfall was their proprietary software loaded with legacy support for old product. The software becomes very complex and needs much testing. Other more nimble players came in, not constrained by legacy issues and with much simpler code. There is competition already chipping away at Cisco product. It's only a matter of time. I postulate a Cisco breakup into more nimble entities could help them keep their dominance. Not saying break it all up, but perhaps in areas it is facing accelerated competition.

  • Should Cisco Split? [View article]
Cisco's strength is their marketing. You can't go wrong buying Cisco gear. Sound familiar? Unfortunately, at some point in time, it will fall apart just like it did at IBM. Having worked there, their very poor engineering managers can do no wrong since their marketing makes them look like winners. Chambers fails to realize his engineering managers are dragging him down. I fully believe he is a great leader. He just doesn't see his engineering leadership is flawed.
