  • A Million Phone Order Isn't What It Used To Be [View article]
Take away apple and Samsung and this is a big number.

Especially when they are going for number 3.

Nokia would also let the world know if they landed a sale like this.

Finally, it's all about sending a signal. I'm sure a lot of IT managers are holding off to see if bberry 10 is going to survive.

It's funny in this new world where sideline commentators can just say "meh" to a half billion dollar order.

    xbox phone? xphone?

something to leverage the xbox brand.

then again, they won the PC war by relying on OEM's.

  • Lumia 920T (NOK) batches are still quickly selling out in China ... and that's not a good thing, argues Tero Kuittinen, since it points to ongoing production issues. Also of concern is the apparent delay of the Indian launch of the mid-range Lumia 620 (crucial to Nokia's emerging markets efforts) to early March. Kuittinen suggests declining volumes have hurt the priority given to Nokia by component suppliers, leading to shortages. Bloomberg previously reported only 30K 920T units had been shipped to China Mobile as of Jan. 30. [View news story]
    Nothing like creating demand?

Id be surprised if the 30k number was accurate.

  • Boeing (BA) roundup: 1) Boeing is in discussions with Indian carriers Jet Airways, SpiceJet and Air India about replacing their 737 jets with more fuel efficient 737-MAX models. 1) The plane-maker will address compensation claims from its 787 customers over their grounded aircraft once the Dreamliner is back in the air. 3) Boeing predicts that India will need 1,450 commercial aircraft worth $175B over the next couple of decades. The company is attending an air show in Bangalore. [View news story]
Probably stating the obvious but that 737-MAX seems like a cash cow.

  • The Real Truth Behind Apple's Growth [View article]
I think people are just bored with Apple.

"Screw the fundamentals, what other exciting stocks can we buy?"

Personally I think Apple loses long term, its the 80's all over again. Should bounce though. I'm out at $600.
