  • Barrett Business Services: Growing Pains Have Subsided Leaving Large Upside Potential [View article]
One problem exists when small businesses apply for group health coverage through traditional providers. Since BBSI is designated as the employer of record for work comp, the small business cannot apply for health coverage using BBSI's federal ID.

  • There's a lively debate taking place regarding Belviq prescription numbers. According to IMS, 1,829 prescriptions were written for Arena's (ARNA -0.4%) weight-loss pill in its second week on the market. SA contributor Reasonable Risk says the data were "improperly analyzed," while TheStreet's Adam Feuerstein calls the drug "marginally effective" and points to what he says are contradictory claims from "Areniacs" regarding the reliability of two week's worth of data. [View news story]
Read the Street's comments in their report on Arena. Not convincing in regard to their sell recommendation. But who expects truth and honesty from Cramer?

  • Arena's Belviq - The Path To $150 Million In Sales [View article]
PhillyDan, Grab a cheesesteak and chill. The CR article was a bit of fluff w/o any medical substantiation, written by a gal with a deadline. That said, I am watching the option action in Arena as an indication of where the smart money is going. Vivus has a lot to lose from Arenas' launch, so I'm particularly interested in the short data from each company. I hope all make money whichever way the wind blows. Good luck to all. Looking forward to your future data Spencer. Thanks.

They are disciplined traders booking a profit. Don't lambast them for following a short term strategy that got them to their goal.

  • Molycorp (MCP) -9.6% premarket after announcing proposed offerings of $300M aggregate principal amount of its convertible senior notes due 2017 and $150M of its common stock, three days after S&P's downgrade. MCP says proceeds will be used to fund expenses for the remainder of 2012 and H1 2013. [View news story]
Either way this unfolds, I feel comfortable going out a couple of months and buy both the 10 calls and puts. The risk of it stagnating here is minimal IMHO.

  • EBay (EBAY +2.8%) doesn't plan to spin off PayPal anytime soon, CNBC reports. Given PayPal has become eBay's main growth engine and likely accounts for over half its market cap, it's hard to blame the company. (ChannelAdvisor data[View news story]
I guess it pays to be negative...why else would someone bother to post such inane comments?

  • National Broadband Plan and Stimulus - A Secular Boom for Occam Networks [View article]
Good commentary Toad. One area not mentioned is Occam's ventures in Europe, Africa etc., and push to make new partnerships with foreign vendors. The subsequent foreign exchange benefit could provide it's own stimulus when the dollar is weak.
