  • Rhino Resource Partners: Ready To Charge Into The Future [View article]
Joseph--Very well done piece. Not much mention of the short term sustainability of paying out such a high dividend, especially considering their conservative growth strategy. How long can they continue to pay out a dividend at 122% of earnings?

So tired of the AAPl crowd whining ....For anyone in it "long-term" which i am assuming means at least 2 yrs, they have a $200 plus profit on their shares since 5/22/09...if you dont like the way it acts, stop crying, sell it and buy something else.

  • Silver Gets No Respect [View article]
Silver should be for savers. Despite being bulky to store (find a way!!) Id rather save silver than save constantly depreciated, devalued US dollars in banks that are either broke, crooked or beholden to the govt. Silver, as well an any other precious metal, should be treated as a personal safety net---especially if the day ever comes (and it can!!) where you roll up and burn worthless dollar bills just to keep warm!

  • Spending vs. Saving: Good or Bad? [View article]
The sad part is that savers get screwed. You save dollars then watch them become devalued by Big Brothers printing press while they graciously (sic) give you.0001% on your (yet to be taxed) earned interest...

you know I truly want to believe the demand for heavy constr. equip. is real--but how much of it is from demand for new projects that will have long term economic benefits (like office buildings, malls, housing, manufacturing, etc) versus govt. short term shot -in-the-arm projects which will only create less consumer demand in the future? If it is the latter, taxpayers have been extracted again and CAT and DE have reaped the benefits.

  • After nearly a year of debate, the SEC votes 3-2 to curb short selling for securities that drop 10% in a single day. Short sales would then face a test and only be allowed if the price is above the then-current national best bid, for that day and the next.  [View news story]
What great news!!! (sic) Now if AAPL drops 2 bucks you cant short it--what will the geniuses come up with next...

  • Goldman Sachs: 5 Trends That Will Result in a Weak Recovery [View article]
I noticed that " continued savings by households " is listed as a negative. My grandparents always thought it was a good idea to save and they did--they also never had credit card debt, defaulted on a mortgage, owed a dime for more than 30 days, needed medical insurance in their old age (away from Medicare) and ever had to borrow money.
