  • Johnson & Johnson: A Classic Buy The Dip Opportunity Right Now [View article]
With the way the market is going, JNJ could be $125 by the end of the year. Great ER, increased guidance, BLUEST blue chip, killer balance sheet, continued p/e expansion...

It could happen very easily, and buying within a few bucks of $100 will look very smart indeed.

I purchased for 2 clients at $87 and $88, but I will try to add for one of them with a limit order in the $101-102 range tomorrow.

    jmtc of course

Bears can bitch all they want. Not hard to figure out what going on with F stock, particularly if you pull up a 3 year chart.

  • Philip Morris: Time To Start Worrying [View article]
Good point, Bill. VLO's reaction today to yesterday's AH announcement was interesting too. I like both co's going fwd.

Of course I'd like to add below $83, but I don't add in large increments, so if it drops another $2-5, I'll certainly add again. There's no certainty it will breach $83 again, so I add at points I deem important.

Thank you again for all your articles on PM and the great discussions that they create.

Will you be writing anything on the latest from the RAI/LO merger???

Added today @ $84.66. Sympathy drop today overdone imo.

Dividend raise in Sept a certainty.

    Mike and fredj:

You misunderstood my post. I don't need the math read back to me about the split.

My point was just that, by holding these shares going fwd (as in, far into the future), the co will continue to raise the distribution (and I think it will), the pps will continue to rise (again, I think it will), and this co will continue its success.

....and fredj...relax man. Don't get out the torches and pitchforks before you're clear about something....Damn.

I think it can be considered 'good news' b/c it's a sign mgmt is very, very confident in the future of the co.

  • What Reynolds American Should Pay For Lorillard [View article]
Hold it. The price is supposed to be $68 and change, so even tho retail investors will vote 'no', it will prob go through at that price anyway. You won't make much, but you should be able to get out with a few bucks.

Agreed. That's why i posted what I did. However, my shares are in a Roth, so I'm fine to sell them at some point and not have to pay cap gains.

I don't see them as vulnerable at all. Whatever may come our way, they will continue to exist, paying divs, raising divs, providing products consumers will pay for, and on and on.

T in particular has looked strong of late. All the crap they taken over the last few years about a go-nowhere co, blah x 3, but they are indeed moving fwd, and so will that dividend.

I think F has a bright future, but in a market swoon, it won't stand the weather as well as the ones I've mentioned.
