What is mindboggling to me is how the methods they use to calculate can be over 50% off (adjustment last month)

..Or has their "new method" of calculating jobs being implemented now?

  • Using Life Insurance Products To Fund Long-Term Needs [View article]
    Per your comment..

"Insurance is meant for protection, not savings. It is also meant for scamming the tax man, especially with respect to estate taxes."

I have been an insurance broker for 30 years...and probably a minority in my industry.... but agree with you 100%

    Always enjoy your articles Richard..Thanks

I have been looking at these stocks favorably for some time, but not because of economy but because employees will be using them much more due to healthcare reform. I'm an insurance broker and do group benefits and have already seen evidence of part time/temps being implemented.

  • To TIP Or Not To TIP [View article]
    Daniel
I think that would depend on what return a person was content with and what their risk tolerance was.

If you have someone that needs 20% return or more a year to retire, then TIPS would certainly not be for them.

...but others may just need to not lose what they have accumulated to be content and return of their money trumps return on it.

    ...and for those

    Performance & Risk
    YTD Return: -0.12%
    3y Avg Return: 8.44%
    5y Avg Return: 5.70%

    ....has served them pretty well.

  • The "widespread impression" is that "Texas is corrupt, callous, racist, theocratic, stupid, belligerent, and most of all, dangerous," writes Erica Greider in a new book. Greider sets out to counter this perception and explain why America should learn from the Lone Star State. The economy is thriving, helped by weak government, strict lending laws, Nafta, mass immigration and generous business incentives, not to mention lots of oil. [View news story]
Your 2024 stats will probably apply to United states in general.
If tax payer and welfare trends continue..we will have about 40% paying income taxes and 1/3 of population unemployed..on welfare-food stamps and disability (on gov payroll) by then.

    Nice research...Thanks Henry

This has been an interesting stock which I have traded several times over past 8 years. Has had some majors swings during that time. My entry figure has always been around $15 and setting on small loss currently but this stock has always bounced back strong in the past.
    Appreciate your input!

  • China takes further measures to cool the property market, with Beijing banning single-person households from purchasing more than one home. The city is also increasing the minimum down-payment for those who want to acquire a second property. Researcher Yi Xianrong isn't convinced by the measures, which "are aimed more at short-term problems rather than the long-term healthy development of the property market." [View news story]

  • Here's What Investors Need To Realize After The Terrific Jobs Report [View article]
"What the real investor needs to realize" ...is the entire report which you failed to mention..for "some reason"

    Forbes
    http://onforb.es/ZzrbQ0

The figure, well ahead of the consensus estimate of 163,000, also came with a decline in the unemployment rate to 7.7%. The lower jobless rate was a combination of several factors, but a significant portion of the dip came from 130,000 workers who dropped out of the labor force. The number of unemployed persons edged lower, to 12 million.
