  • Microsoft Surface, And Windows 8 Tablets In General, Will Be Competitive [View article]
Mountain Lion desktop OS already have tablet feel and iOS6 will make the same for iPhone iPad in the opposite direction blurring PC Tablet boundaries, iWorks is compatible with Office, but pretty soon Office itself will be an iPad app. Surface is not a laptot nor a tablet is an underpowered ultrabook with some missing specs ie connectivity, battery life, etc.

I don't think that holding up information is helping, uncertainty doesn't help at all and,if , ie the battery life would be around 7 vs 10+ for the ipad that wouldn't help at all, so the real threat would be for the ultrabooks(?) i think not giving the whole picture only create confusion and kill the hype, probably they want to wait till the get everything in place but there information that should not be kept in secret for more than 5+ months rushing the announcement is not good specially is they already late for the party and certainly won't kept people from buying products already on the shelves.

I'm not trying to offend, but until all the questions in the air (ie: price, apps, battery life and against which device are they competing? etc) have been answered this is just vaporware, anyone remember the playbook, touchpad and all their(broken)promises when they were presented?, and then, they just ended up being a flop even though the machines weren't that bad at all. The only way to know who will be the winners and the losers will be known after launch, once we got the(real) number of people who actually bought them.

  • Why I'm Worried About Apple Growth [View article]
The smartphone penetration is not in full gear in the US yet , and much less in the rest of the world, so this guy doesn't know what he's talking about. iPhone momentum is strong and the iPad is yet building up its own just to talk about two products (more coming in the pipeline)which are creating halo effect and more awareness for the brand. This is just the beginning and in a very special way for Apple.

  • Playbook 2.0 Set To Move RIM Shares Higher [View article]
Appeal to like 200k, meanwhile the competition is selling tablets by the tens of millions, ok lets get real here, the fact is that rimm has missed too many opportunities to get it act right , they should stop talking less and doing more, because if they keep missing self imposed deadlines, people would stop believing that they even exist. And please, do not start telling me that they still selling millions of bb, which is true; but every quarter they are selling less and less and not by thousands but millions.

But the case is not that the ipad would take Mac share, but that is already taking everybodys else share at steady pace.

So that means all your writing is a little nonsense, because you are trying to predict the future based on actual products, and since nobody could see or imagine what they got in the pipeline, pretty much everybody agrees they got plenty (at least for the next 5 years), therefore predict market share and earnings based in just current products is risky to say the less, imo i think you article is worthless in a sense that you cannot say exactly where Apple will be in 2 or 3 years from now, because you don't know what products they would be releasing by then, and as i said before, what will be the impact of those in company income and market share, making your predictions very unlikely, because you asuming falsely they got nothing new to release, which you know, i'ts not the case, at least for now.
