  • Dividends Do Matter, But There Are Two Sides To Every Story [View article]
    Gratian,

Yes, I am a bit of a troublemaker, but in a good way.

I've been ever so pleased with myself this morning, ever since Toledo put me on his DNR list.

  • A New Take On The 4% Rule [View article]
    Toledo,

There are hundreds, nay thousands of RIAs on SA. If you think there's some secret factchecker who sneaks around and reviews all their comments, I've got a ponte in Firenze to sell you.

    I'm your DNR, baby. Yeah!!!

But just in case you won't reply again, even though I know you're really reading all my comment, I'm still waiting for you to point out what sort of racial slurs I've supposedly been making.

Your failure to reply speaks volumes.

    Toledo,

Okay Lawrence. Have it your way. You wouldn't want to reply to someone who is such a racist... eh, signore?

I'm on your DNR? Great. I am thrilled. But sure, I can understand why you wouldn't want to argue with someone like me who's not afraid to argue back.

BTW, Didn't you already find the holy grail of MPT. So why are you still here?

    Ortho,

"In total" the stock's overpriced RIGHT NOW. . If they want to waste money, give it to the shareholders, buy down debt, make acquisitions, anything is better than buying back stock at inflated prices.

    Toledo,

"Btw ethnic slurs from the guy in the hat and shades ."

By ALL means, please point them out. I'm dying to learn what races have been slurred.

Or are you considering strawmen as a race? If so, I can well understand your hypersensitivity.

    Toledo,

if anyone like an RIA or Mstar posts here it must pass compliance at their firm, and doubtless gets edited on fact checked."

  • Why The Decade Of Dominance For Cyclical Investments Is Just Beginning [View article]
    TII,

I don't have any reluctance to own cyclicals. I have a reluctance to buy cyclicals when the economy's still limping along and there will likely be an opportunity to get them cheaper in a a few months out.

    Verr,

    Okay, I'll bite.

What does a failed, hedge fund have to do with the price of beans in China?

And true, tulip mania is due to reccur any time now. I'd advise you to buy some tulip puts as insurance.

  • Taking Risk Into Account In The Active Vs. Passive Debate [View article]
    Toledo,

Glenn Beck? Sorry. I don't waste my time reading books by demagogues of any political stripe. I also don't watch Fox news or MSNBC for the same reasons.

And sorry that you're unable to pigeonhole me into whatever neat, little cubicle you think I belong..

But yes, I won't have the fun of watching options or the stock market until next week. That means I'll turn off my computer in a few minutes and won't turn it on again until Tuesday.

You're clearly a lost cause to MPT, but send your father-in-law around. I suspect he'll have a more open mind about investing, eh signore?

    Arriverderci.

  • When Should I Be Selling? [View article]
    Hawmps,

Maybe we should just skip the usual round of debates and let the candidates square off over a couple rousing rounds of the shell game or three-card monte. Essential skills for any politician.

    Toledo,

Bschool? Racial slurs? What on earth are you smoking.

If my use of some Spanish words offends your wife, my apologies. I live in the southwest where Spanish is as common as English. So I'll stick to Italian, eh signore?

As for you, well, an open, honest dialogue from the start would serve you better than a string of misrepresentations.

Hat and PJs? That's cute. I'll try it out tonight.
