No problem. Logic obviously isn't your strong suit.

    Wheels,

IMO the mistake wasn't going into Iraq (Bush's war) or Afghanistan (Obama's war) , the mistake was staying there.

    Elle,

No, of course not. But my point was that most midstream MLPs maintained or increased dividends during the recession, even when unit prices had been driven down 50 percent or more.

    Chowder,

hah yes. I lived in England and my first loyalty is always to the EPL squads.

I'm watching the Europa match as well. Liverpool doesn't score much whenever Suarez is out of the lineup. They need to do some deals in the January transfer window.

    Elle,

2007-2009 was a bad time. But to fair, more MLPs (especially the pipelines) maintained or raised their distributions than cut them during the recession.

I bought APL and ATLS ( AHD ) after they cut the distros (admittedly speculative plays) and they've been spectacular investments.

    easyrob,

My portfolio is pretty diversified, so I don't have those over-concentration issues. I don't sell very often either, but have been gradually raising cash the past few months in anticipation of that Washington-induced buying opportunity.

    Don't you mean 27 percent?

    Cashcow,

Unca Warren only makes $100K per year. He could probably use the extra income from SA page views.

    Chowder,

Agreed. Elle's contributions are welcomed. I'm not sure if there's any real disagreement actually.

I personally will sell a stock if it runs up too far, too fast for my liking,, then will wait for an opportunity to buy back at a better valuation (lower price) if it still meets my criteria for owning it.

    Elle,

Hah. I didn't see your previous comment, so as I said, I don't own or follow RAD, and looked at the chart. I wouldn't call that 20-20 hindsight, I'd call it research...

I fully realize we can only make decisions based on the best available info at the time, that's why I said it's never wrong to book a profit. Only time will tell iof Chowder made the best decision, but if he's like me, he doesn't look back and second guess himself.
