After receiving a PhD in engineering at Purdue University (W Lafayette, IN), I worked for twenty years developing control systems for automotive, power generation, industrial control, and unmanned aircraft. In recent years I have become interested in securities trading systems. Presently I am trading ETFs with my own system as a full time occupation. The system trades about once per day and holds for 1-5 days. It is designed to enter just after a pull back and catch the early part of an uptrend, exiting before the top. It trades long, short, leveraged, and unleveraged ETFs, so should be active in all market conditions. Real time screening and pre-optimization of the system parameters for each qualified ETF are key elements. Presently, I am interested in developing more maturity with probabilistic modeling, to combine multiple models into a single expected value of return/risk in real-time.
