  • Take-Two Interactive: What You Need To Know About The Blowout Quarter - GTA V Sales And Earnings Results [View article]
I've followed this stock long enough that some of us longs have always complained about management, especially Zelnick who is unable to be transparent and gives out what we call the Z-Bomb which pretty much ruins a conference call, and like clock-work he doesn't disappoint.

During the conference call Zelnick and company gave non-answers to every analyst who was trying to understand the revenue streams for the next coming quarters. When you have a stock that typically relies on hits and has been unable to sustain themselves after big hit titles, the market needs some form of certainty, and management gave no assurance to stockholders.

The CEO was given the best hand in the table but doesn't know how to play it. He doesn't know how to sell his company. I can only hope that people will look away from the incompetence of management and let the numbers speak for itself. The cash is there, reputation and products are there, and I hope the stock price follows suit.

  • Dark clouds over J.C. Penney [View news story]
I have no stake in the stock as of now but comparing the traffic from a year ago around Greensboro, Cary, Durham, and Raleigh stores in NC I've seen significant improvement. I live near Southpoint Mall Durham and the JC Penney I visit frequently was pretty much empty a year ago is now bustling with people.

  • Microsoft (MSFT) does an about-face, dropping the Xbox One's Internet verification requirements and all of its used game restrictions. GameStop (GME) investors are very pleased, shares +7.8% AH. Microsoft's change-of-heart follows a major backlash from gamers (they were far from appeased by Redmond's initial response), and plenty of gamer enthusiasm being shown for the PlayStation 4 (SNE), both due to its lack of similar restrictions and its lower price. [View news story]
All MSFT needs to do now is match the Sony's price point by giving a non-kinect option that's priced at $399 and the preorders will match the PS3s.

  • Microsoft's Xbox One Decisions Should Delight Investors [View article]
I agree, They need to create a lower tier option (possibly without the kinect) and match Sony's $399 price. The hardcore gamers will buy where there loyalties lie but the average consumer will look only at that price tag. Sony has already learned this from the previous generation by pricing their item at $600, why can't MSFT?

  • Take Two Interactive: Putting All Grand Theft Auto Cities In One Game Could Pay Off [View article]
I'll hold just in case the political theater titled "Fiscal Cliff" can bring this market down a few more points, but I feel the gaming industry as a whole is going to have a good year 2013 provided we don't have a debilitating economic downturn. Exciting titles for next year and unveiling of Sony and Microsoft's new consoles will help give the industry a nice refresh cycle and drive positive sentiment to investors and traders.

I'm looking to buy into some of these game companies especially TTWO, but I'm wondering how long this sudden decline will last. The unfortunate Newtown tragedy has some politicians blaming video games, as well as the recent THQI bankruptcy scaring investors out of the stock.
