actually even the tea party is for sale, we need to get money out of politics, politicians spend more time raising money than legislating.

where were the fiscal conservatives when Bush was in office? The real republicans forced Clinton to balance the budget, Bush and Cheney then blew it up. Social Security and Medicare have their own tax. Over 70% of Federal Income tax is spent on the military. This is what is bankrupting our country. Cut it by half, balance the budget, pay off the debt, rebuild this country.

I also agree, it is frustrating investing in both of these drug companies and seeing the bashing on both sides. Death by a thousand cuts. It's a marathon not a sprint, let's all get along and root for both of these companies to succeed.

  • Why Stocks Continue To Levitate In The Face Of Eroding Economic Metrics: Ask Elizabeth Warren [View article]
Mr. Bear, I agree with you, the market is irrational. If Glass-Steagall 2.0 passes it's time to short the market. Unfortunately with the money that flows into political campaigns from banks it will not pass in all likelihood. Oh to be a lobbyist in this day and age

  • Why Did The Stock Market Explode Upward In 1995 And Can It Happen Again? [View article]
I believe the growing wealth of the rest of the world will continue to follow the trend the baby boomers had. Save, invest, and speculate. The U.S. markets will attract a lot of this new found wealth and with the ability to trade electronically we will see our markets benefit from this. Excellent point Tim, thank you

The most evident innovations I see changing our economy is alternative energy. No country is more addicted to the fossil fuel tit than the U.S. We have the answer, if we can overcome the oil lobbyist fighting us on this and quit waving the Solyndra flag to prevent us from further investment in fossil fuel alternatives the next big opportunity is here.

  • Rockwell Steadies Itself For A Phase III Run-Up [View article]
    Thanks Brian,

I wasn't very optimistic about the long term viability of the company but sub $1.00 seemed harsh at first until I remember all the dilution of the last few years. It then gets delisted which causes a further fall. Can I ask you the flip side of the equation? If SFP is approved what is the long term value ( not the short pop it gets ) of the company? I am sure it's hard to predict but I am simply weighing the odds of using some of my previous profits. To me, this is a stock to trade not invest in.

Brian you make a lot of good points, my question is what is the company worth if SFP fails and all the R&D comes to a halt. Will it languish at $4.00 or perhaps go down to $3.00 where the last offering was? When Calcitrol is approved will that change anything? I bought at $4 and sold at $8 once before. I don't trust management either but if the Phase III trials eventually lead to SFP sales it might be worth getting back in with the profits.

  • Why A Stock Market Bubble Is Forming Right Now [View article]
The Fed's aim is to skim 1% off of the governments borrowing. What a scam, print money out of thin air and charge the United States in the process.

  • Arena: The Belviq Launch And Why The Short Thesis Is Wrong [View article]
I want to thank you for your article that explained the "never-expiring call option" for ARNA at $1.25. I increased my shares by several thousand in the weeks that followed. I sold a third my shares to cover my costs and banked a very nice profit and I still get to hang onto the rest as a free long term investment. I faith in your analysis I believe I will experience another 5 bagger from here.

4% ? I suppose it depends on the ATR of each investment but 4% seems tight unless you are expecting a prolonged drop in prices

  • Adjust Accordingly: Orexigen's Catalysts May Be Later Than Hoped [View article]
I have traded in and out of these stocks in a similar fashion. When the DEA gets off their hands and allow Belviq to be sold I will probably sell the pop and sell my second third of my position of ARNA and keeping the rest for a longer term spec play. I like OREX also but $5 is a little steep for me, I am looking at $4 buy and a $6 dollar sell opportunity. I prefer a setup of a possible double or triple. Since I already traded OREX for a triple I am lowering my expectations short term.

  • Painless Play To Fatten Up Your Portfolio: Buy Arena [View article]
I am cautious with spec plays, I've been trading and investing since 2000. I have kept 2/3's of my Arena for an investment, (I too like their pipeline) I traded away the other 1/3 to cover all my costs and a 50% gain. I took that gain and bought another decent trade RMTI at 3.50. The run up to the July Phase III result should provide a double where I will sell half and be ready to sell the rest if bad news happens. If results are positive which I expect, RMTI may end up back to it's 52 week high of 10.70
I did end up with a 50% gain on VVUS but I admit I left a lot of money on the table when it declined. Orex I traded like ARNA, bought at 2, sold 1/3 at 6 now holding the rest as a free investment. For every winner in Spec plays I have 2 losers. I usually contain my loses to 20% I am normally happy with a 50% gain but in the weight loss arena (pun intended) the benefits to the public are huge and the market is vast. I think Blockbuster is a huge possibility for more than just Arena.
