  • Jinpan International Withdrew Buy-Out Offer - Doesn't Change The Fact The Stock Is Undervalued [View article]
Hi Bill, thanks for your article.

my rationale as to why JST shares are priced at extremely low multiples:

2013 20F opinion on financial internal controls and the size of the growth of AR over the last 5 years in relation to the growth of revenue. Revenue up a factor of 1.5. AR up 2.3

"In our opinion, the Company did not maintain, in all material respects, effective internal control over financial reporting as at December 31, 2013, based on the criteria established in 1992 Internal Control—Integrated Framework issued by COSO because a material weakness in internal control over financial reporting related to the estimation of a reserve against overdue accounts receivable. "

Maybe the next 20 F will report a clean opinion.

  • The Crude Oil Slump Is Also Temporary From A Demand Standpoint [View article]
i have reviewed the relationship between the weekly price of gold and the price of Brent going back to 1987. The correlation over this period is 91%. Currently the ratio is at 25.88. The 1987 -2015 Mean is 16.19 and the median is 15.14. Only 7% of the time has the ratio been higher than 25. Until the current break above 25, all the previous times it broke 25 were before the year 2000. If mean reversion means anything, something has to give, or it is different this time.

  • Coca-Cola Has Got Milk, And Investors Should Care [View article]
Cow's milk is not designed for human consumption. Never was and never will be. Nothing any company can do to it will change that fact. And current, leading, long term studies on milk consumption are certainly proving the point

The recent study published in the British Medical Journal followed more than 100,000 people in Sweden over periods of 20 to 30 years. The milk drinkers were more likely to die from heart disease and cancer, and among the women, the milk drinkers suffered more overall fractures and hip fractures.

Once people understand and stop believing the milk lobby, human consumption of cow's milk will whither and die, as it should.

U.S. rail traffic, including carloadings of all commodity types, has increased 4.5% through October 2014 compared to the same period in 2013. Is this due to declining demand?

And here all this time I thought it was supply. Natural gas production has been rising since 2005.
In November U.S.A produced 2.1 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, the seventh consecutive record-breaking month for natural gas production.

Recently you were claiming they were buying precious metals as this was a "liquid asset", remember that? So which is it? Are they buying precious metals or debt?

"in order for a bank to make a profit on cash it has to lend it out." Better to hold TLT instead. Up 22% YTD.
