This seems to be very short sighted on the part of the European policy makers forcing the issue on this unjust confiscation of account holder money. I think in the next 24 hours, a lot of pressure from numerous sources will influence the idiot Cypriot prime minister as well as the IMF and the EU idiots to reverse course on this. Why in the world would you risk banking confidence in the entire EU region to steal a lousy 6 billion dollars? These guys are truly idiots.

We seem to be having a .3% pullback today. I guess we will see if the fed surrogates will intervene by 4:00 PM. I sure hope so as down days seem to be a glimmer of past memory. Like you say, know one knows what the future will bring but the trend has sure been up. Have you been calling for recession in the first quarter or the first half?

But the Dow is down now. Did Ben get worried after reading this and let the market makers and big banks know they need to reverse course? He must spend quite a bit of time on the phone or cranking out group emails or something. I wonder if he will change his mind again later today. I sure hope so!
Cash Hoards On The Sidelines And The Great Rotation: Old Myths Meet A New Reality [View article]
In the end, I could give a hoot about how much money is on the sidelines. I have a well researched and diversified portfolio that is allocated to my risk tolerance and gets rebalanced on a regular basis. It is also managed tactfully to benefit from perceived market opportunities in the future. In the long term I should come out fine based on history of the markets which is all I have to go by as I do not know what the future holds and neither does anyone else. We humans sure get weird when it comes to our money and our ego's.

It seems confusing on the QE timeline. I thought that the Fed has tied it to Unemployment and Inflation targets. Is that no longer the case or are they just blowing smoke?

On the debt ceiling, there was something in the way Obama said he would not negotiate the debt ceiling that made me take notice. Maybe he plans to assert the 14th amendment section 4 and defy congress to file suit to the supreme court. Thats what I would do were I in his shoes and the Republicans resorted to blackmail.
