  • BlackBerry BBM Security Concerns [View article]
"...When BlackBerry extended encryption to all BBM messages, rather than adding a 'new' layer of security, conceptually, they created a huge virtual 'BES' server to 'manage' those messages not already 'managed' by a private BES server..."

Does this apply to BB10 BBM messages?

  • BlackBerry: Strong Buy On Buyout Collapse [View article]
What I see is a new CEO who has credibility on Wall St. where the former CEO had none. Everyone thought the former CEO was just making excuses. I think they will take the new CEO more seriously.

  • BlackBerry Board Should 'Extend' Fairfax Due Dili Window [View article]
They should get out of the Fairfax deal because it will remove some unwanted incentives that were included in the deal.
    Then they should fire Heins.
Then they should push on because even Scully said that they have a good future.
    Concentrate on the future.

I think they may use this financing problem as an excuse to lower the offer price.

Not bad. As long as this continues up to 40 million, they have a big chance of it being successful.

  • BlackBerry: It's All About The Valuation [View article]
I'm not talking about selling the NOCs, I am talking about selling bandwidth on them: a secure internet, if you will. A secure internet with connections via over 600 carriers' cell towers.
And I think the value of their security intellectual properties just shot up when it was reported that other forms of encryption no longer work due to new algorithms and the increase in computing power.

  • BlackBerry: It's All About The Valuation [View article]
So you don't see any value in the secure NOCs that they have worldwide?
You cannot see any way that this can me monetized?

What about the EEC patent that may be the only secure encryption method in the near future? Won't that makes its value skyrocket?

  • BlackBerry 10 Demand Estimated At 1.5 Million Units Per Month [View article]
So you are saying 18 million per year? Just for BB10 based phones?
That seems much higher than others who are estimating 6 million per year.

  • BlackBerry: Too Late To Openness [View article]
From what I have read BBM is much more reliable and has many more features than the competition, including the ability to create groups.
Due to this, many people will gravitate to it.
Once they do, companies like GM or ABC news will pay to be able to set up channels to target subsribers with their advertising.
If it works, they will have a much bigger base for GM or ABC to target and presumably, they will get paid more if the advertizing can go to a bigger group.
    It is never too late.

  • Will BlackBerry's Cheap Data Strategy Stem Market Share Loss In India? [View article]
The new phones will come out when they come out. I think BBRY is still desireable. Also, in a country with such a large population, you don't need an enormous % marketshare to be profitable.
