  • 3D Printing: Revolutionary Industry, Terrible Investment [View article]
Didn't GE set a $40M budget for this year to support start of their own 3D Manufacturing facility? This happened after they'd partnered with Sigma Labs and bought another small company producing 3D "metal like property" objects... All that isn't fantasy.... I have been long on DDD, ONVO, and SGLB since July 2012. And, about 35 years ago, as a Manager of Computer Applications to Scientific and Engineering Development, I went to England and Germany to investigate the potential of 3D Design.

  • 3D Printing: Revolutionary Industry, Terrible Investment [View article]
3D Manufacturing started about 35 years ago.
It is used for the production of many objects you didn't list:
prostheses in dentistry and surgery, even live grafts and as well tissues for pharmaceutical products testing by Organovo.
But most important parts for jet engines produced way back by Dasssaut and more recently by General Electric. You should look also at the two metals ammunitions produced by Sigma labs.
And, pastries, spare parts, jewelry for entertainment, toys, etc....

  • 3 Reasons Why Stratasys Beats 3D Systems [View article]
I agree about the ssys vs. DDD reviews.
Regarding ONVO I see things turning around shortly; read the latest news carefully; test with human tissues revealed issues that test on animal tissues failed to detect; that news and ONVO's association for research with a large pharmaceutical company are trampolines for financial success.

This article only argument is that DDD doesn't make enough profit. That smells like manipulation of edgers. I remain long on 3D Systems; the leader of the pack. :)

The most dangerous predator would be GE that did commit $40Millions to DDD apps this year. But so far GE continues to be a customer of this branch of manufacturing industry.

  • 3D Systems Will Continue Its Rally [View article]
As long as edge funds managers like the volatility of the stock it will be a trading stock; but watch it; the stock price is surfing over the global 3D Manufacturing trend market and economy growth that provide a solid return much higher than inflation.
The 30% organic growth is reality to remain strong for 2 to 5 years at least.
Two years ago, I entered investing in DDD at $37 (adjusted) and I remain long on this well managed leading pioneer of the 3D Manufacturing Industry.

  • Consider 3D Systems On The Pullback To Profit From 3-D Printing [View article]
With its remarkable acquisition strategy, 3D Systems is penetrating "further" the medical apps they have supported for more than 20 years. Then, they supplied the 3D assistance equipment that supported the surgery to separated Siamese twins attached at the back of their skulls. DDD is also front runner in providing prosthesis toes to teeth.
