  • Sources Suggest Suntech Power's Convertible Bondholders Won't Get Any Money From The Restructuring [View article]
    God let's hope not......

Supposedly they eventually remove the shares if the company doesnt respond (they are given time to protest thats basically the issue). Of course its a Chinese fraud dark for 15 months so they arent communicating. This kind of an unprecedented situation and DTC are bureaucratic assholes.

If you are at IB you are still paying the shares, I've been over this with them probably 15 times. It's ridiculous. I see it looking in my accounts yesterday and its still not marked and using up my margin.

NO. People short CMEDY are STILL stuck with the stock marked at last trade of 2.58 (it was halted/frozen before the price blew up to near zero) because the company hasnt communicated so DTC hasnt cancelled shares. Still paying 80% borrow off 3 dollar reference rate. It's fricking nuts. Nobody can do anything.

CMEDY has been a disaster for anyone who got frozen in it short. Adam do you think we have to worry about a similar situation given the borrow rate here?

  • Caesars' Short Case Clearer, Simpler -- And Stronger [View article]
    aaakawk,

And what if the stock didnt move a crazy illogical amount based on loose speculation of what could come of the NJ news. Why should another state cause such a move on purported fundamentals when they don't support what has already happened?

A short squeeze is what it is, don't mistake it for reality.

The real problem here is it is far from a done deal online gambling will prove that lucrative for CZR. Stock is trading like perfect execution has happened when there isnt even legality yet. Furthermore NV and NJ are special states given the gambling special interests and Christie has an election coming up.

Vince thanks for the great follow up and in depth two articles. The ridiculous nature of this recent seems driven home by the lack of confirmation in the debt, which arguably is where the value shifts around here and is the non retail spec money. Or does the spinoff mean that the fortunes of the debt and equity are to some extent divergent?

Which issue do you think is best to follow for a gauge? The most liquid seems to be the 10% coupon 12/15/18 trading at 66.

  • Overseas Shipholding Group Inc. - Why The Equity Is Worthless, Part II [View article]
Maybe you are not responding anymore, but it's all well and good to call this a zero, it clearly is, but with the borrow over 100% you better be right damn soon. What is the catalyst for this to die?

Point being, I've heard all these shipping companies are zombies because the debt holders don't want to take control of the ships so they would rather just refinance and let the equity stay out there.

  • Can They Spare A Penny A Click For International Coverage? [View instapost]
Jon has been offering great coverage and I support his efforts to get paid here. It is far more useful and important research then all the chattering nonsense on maybe big name companies. Wall street research also misses this void.
