  • Mellanox On The Road To Technological Obsolescence [View article]
You & Pone...I agree wholehearedly...Phenom... I'd say that Akram's was the best commentary I've read in my 18 yrs in the bus. It just made sense the 1st time through. The 2nd time really clarified everything.

Was considering MLNX 4 my Discounted Growth portfolio. So glad I read Akram's commentary b4 I allocated client assets to it. There are a lot of good/brilliant people on this site and I hope this info flow can continue. In the old days, I could make $500k/yr++ peddling Akram's stuff!!!

Akram: I echo your thoughts. Who exactly would expend that much effort to try and discredit what any rational and intelligent investor, analyst, etc. would find so obvious after reading your comments. I was + on MLNX before I read your stuff. Thank God that I did. I've read a lot of BS in my time...and your comments were definitely not BS. I never like to assume...but am gonna assume that Pinocchio won't be chiming in w/in the next few days. If she has the balls 2 do so, that's great.

    Big Nose:

I'd bet that Akram works more than 100 hrs/week. Wait a minute...he probably works only 25 hrs/per week, because his intelligence is at least 4X yours!

Man...I'm so glad that I have been a neutral bystander and observer. Definitely have learned SO MUCH. We all know: E=MC(sq)

Well, I just came up with another:

    Pinocchio=AssClown!

p.s. Pinocchio, this is for your followers. That is, If you have any followers, they will hopefully pull the ejection seat as soon as your "uniformed blather" is read.

Btw, have you been working with the Obama campaign to write your worthless crap? Am assuming that is your only valid excuse for being such a fool!!!

    Akram:

Will keep it short. Absolutely phenomenal and valuable commentary! (As mentioned in response to Pinnocho..browning his britches today). Would be great to speak with you at some point.

Bus partner & I run an investment firm. I manage 2 equity portfolios (Discounted Growth & Global Income+Growth). Partner runs 3 other portfolios. I farm out a significant % of my clients' assets to alternative managers. Have a couple of great ones I've done bus with for several years. Phenomenal risk-adjusted returns and uncorrelated to stock & bond markets.

Prior to your MLNX commentary, I was not familiar with you. Anyway, it would be great to learn more about what exactly your business. A close, long-time friend of mine has done a lot of bus in the UAE. We were classmates at The U.S. Naval Academy. He has been extremely successful running an MBS hedge fund. 13+% annualized return, lower volatility than the LBGC, 94+% positive monthly returns, negative correlation to stock & bond markets. He's launching a new fund before year end. I'll be allocating client assets to the fund.

Anyway, my name is Ken. I can be reached @ kpcapitalpartners@gmai... or 978.766.6678 in the U.S. Thanks a lot for posting such great info on the site. I really appreciate it.

    Take care,

    Ken Perrone

    Hey Pinocchio:

Panic, huh? Who's browning their britches now? Akram's commentary was one of the best I've ever read on this site. Extremely insightful and valuable!

  • Mattress Firm: Still A Short [View article]
4/10/12 4:23 PM More on Mattress Firm (MFRM): Easily beats Q4 estimates on a 47% jump in net sales and a 61% Y/Y rise in gross profit. The company guides FY12 higher, now expecting $1.40 - $1.48 per share. Street estimates are for $1.37. Separately the company also buys Mattress Giant for approximately $47M in cash. Shares +9.5% AH.

Any comments on revenues and/or earnings?

Your analysis is fraught with holes, hearsay, and untruths. MFRM has been crushing Mattress Giant, so much so that MG will soon be out of business. How can you put any trust in what a Mattress Giant employee tells you about MFRM.

JW Childs made a great investment and ROI in MFRM. However, your assertion that JW Childs is willing to dump their holdings "at any price" is ludicrous and baseless! In fact, JW Childs will continue to hold several million MFRM shares once the lock-up expires. Your assertion is nothing more than a short who has been squeezed to death and has subsequently panicked.

Finally, if I were a betting man, I'd wager that you will be burned further once MFRM's quarterly and annual revenues and earnings are released.

  • China-Biotics vs. Spreadtrum Communications: Why AIC Filings Matter [View article]
Very interesting ongoing dialogue. Have never posted a comment, but will do so now. I've worked in the investment mgt industry for 17 years, as an equity analyst & portfolio mgr. I have no position in CHBT. My opinions/observations: 1) Chinese Company Analyst's assessment of CHBT are dead on. He backs up everything he has written. A close friend of 30 years who travels regularly to Shanghai, Hong Kong, etc. regularly has confirmed much of what CCA has stated. My friend is short the stock. 2) RAKawai is obviously extremely intelligent and competent. I'd hire him. 3) Jason Nevader is young and gullible at best. He has not backed up any of his opinions (or any of CHBT's corporate statements). Jason, have you ever traveled to China or verified existence of any of CHBT's facilities or retail stores? Maybe you should...Perhaps he should focus his "serial entrepreneurism" elsewhere. 4) Jennifer Arsuaga...funny. Your comments are meant as a joke, right? If not, you are waaaayyy out of your league! Please do yourself a big favor and stick to CD's & mutual funds.
