  • MusclePharm Fails To Pump Me Up [View article]
We will agree to disagree on this.
While there is a PR value to it, any company cannot invest in anything and everything that looks and smells good.
Part of prioritization includes limiting activities on a few focused things and succeed at these. You would likely be one of the first to complain that they are trying to do too many things if they acted in such a fashion.
Building on the key brands they have now and generating cash for future initiatives in time makes sense. Using cash on hand today to buy depressed stock (thanks to you - well done) may not be a bad thing at all. Time will tell

One would want Company's Management to invest in growth initiatives. Buying depressed stock may not be a bad idea at this time if the Company expects to generate serious cash in the upcoming quarters. They have made serious decisions in recent months and undertaking too many initiatives at once may lead to dilution of efforts.
    Key issues here include:
    - Acquisition and integration of BZNE (portion acquired)
    - Expansion of distribution channels (COST WMT etc.)
    - Increased marketing campaigns as part of an overall strategy (Arnold, UFC and now Kaepernick of the 49ers)

On the question of UFC marketing relationship, the advertising value is that the ring mat is seen during all matches by audiences (both live and TV). In addition, the company logo gets seen every time there is a news caption or TV report.

  • MusclePharm: Poised For Future Growth [View article]
I visited a COST location on Sunday and MSLP had by then three different products available.
This compares to only one small display area for one of the products only a month ago; the earlier product also had more prominence on the shelves as all MSLP products were clearly shown near the aisle approaching the line up of cashiers.
Volume is certainly increasing, at least in this location (Brookhaven) which boasts a younger clientele that typical suburbia locations do.

Time and proven commercial application of the technology. This is where the MSLP investment becomes interesting to follow.
This is not something that will happen in a matter of weeks however.
It is moving in the right direction

MSLP had already received some business from COST.
The announcement you referring to is probably their COMBAT line; this is new stuff and should help demonstrate revenue growth in their next reporting period

I do not worry much about having only 2 sales people. The important issue here is the strategic relationship between OPK, MSLP and BZNE.
These two relationships alone, if the BZNE products can be used commercially, are enough to help grow the company to the next level. Building a strong sales team over time will then be a natural next step.
A company does not need a large sales force to win. It only needs a few well managed strategic relationships and a developing expansion of its customer base.

I agree with Grizzle that the low price is acceptable in light of future pipeline of business MSLP will bring to BZNE.
There certainly would be other fund raising avenues but it is unlikely that any of these would bring regular good margin volume with these.

Does anyone know if the Schwarznegger deal include equity position on Arnold's part, either through investment or compensation?

Skype serves a different purpose and market. It does not kill the value of either NTLK or CALL.

As far as these two are concerned, there is a serious product quality difference and NTLK wins the battle. I do not share this as an investor as much as a user.
CALL product continues to have breakdowns in calls and NTLK product has been (in my experience) superior in sound quality. I have used it while overseas to call back to US and Canada and not only paid back that $40 in a hurry but benefited from good sound quality. My experience with CALL was not as good.
The real risk with NTLK is whether they will build up their marketing program sufficiently fast to gain foothold in marketplace. Adding all Walmart stores in the country (already in some and walmart.com) will help them continue their growth but the game changer will have to include heavy TV marketing, something I recognize they have been weak on.

Your comments about NetTalk.com (NTLK) may have been erroneous.
They introduced the DUO about 2 years ago, not requiring the user to have a PC running ahead of Magic Jack.
The annual fee for USA/Canada is only $40 in most locations and not $65.
You commented that CALL sued them indeed in the last year; that is true but you forgot to mention that the judge threw the case out with "prejudice" which suggests that CALL had to reimburse their legal expenses as the judge did not see any merit to the case.
Takis Kyriakides has done a good job as CEO.
Their biggest challenge has been marketing their product to the masses. CALL does a great job of promoting on TV which is something NTLK has not done on a solid, steady basis.
    I am long NTLK

  • NPS Pharmaceuticals Has A Billion Plus Blockbuster On Its Hands [View article]
    Well done and very enlightening.
It was very prudent not to suggest any revenue from drugs in development at the moment.
Have you however done a more aggressive assessment including such potential revenues? Out of interest, it may be interesting to have in addition if available.
Many thanks again for great overview of the NPSP situation
