Public employee. 59 yrs old. Will Retire at age 61. Lost some trading, made more with the long term in mind, kept more when i stopped trading. Alway kept those monies separate. Paid way more attention to saving for retirement than for my children's college expenses. With retirement funded, I can afford their college costs and will retire while the last child has 2-3 years of college left. That is the real gift to my children, the same gift given by my parents; that they(the children) should never have to worry about taking care of their parents financial needs in their old age (the complete opposite of my wife's forefathers).
