Even at $185, I'm Sticking with Apple [View article]
Lets make some assumptions The regular people -not the my stock predictions are always correct class- are in a financial slump. Assuming regular people last bought a cool thing for themselves in late 2008 early 2009 and assuming that this "mess" we are in does not see real light until October/November 2010 in time for Christmas then I predict AAPL to be @ approximately $250 to $275 @ close of options January 2011. This is based on a surge of buying for back to school and Christmas 2010 and option pumping in late December '10 and early January '11. Disclosure: I am an iPhone carrying Mac tech support providing, Apple fan boy that got burned last year by buying Jan 2010 $200 calls @ $40 -sigh-.
The biggest problem I see is that discount brokers DO NOT REINVEST dividends. They put the cash into your account every quarter. If anyone has a discount broker that reinvests PLEASE clue me in. I see/saw the power of reinvested dividends with my mom growing her small shares in the original ATT as an employee and following through to the divestiture into "regional" telcos and the shares growing and growing and NOW she is taking the dividends as supplements to her pension which has not grown in 20 years of retirement.

the problem is, everyone wants to be everything to everybody.
lets look at this observation; bb had great market lead and with their first phone apple took away the bb cache.
now bb plays catch up to a computer company.
imagine if apple decided to put out as many models as bb does.
ps. nothing like bumping into or tripping over smartphone users on the the streets and stairs of nyc. I have personally stepped on 1 iphone and 2 bb as users try to multitask. no i did not apologize. F 'em.
Don't buy apple? for the next six months? until 2011? ever? While I am not a professiona investor I do know apple is a leader..... you think palm would have come out with the pre as designed without the development of the iphone. ipod is the equivalent of xerox scotch tape or kleenex. and apple computers vs msft based machines is only growing.

csco has done zip since the internet bubble burst. think of the change in internet use and services since the bubble and how has csco capitalized on that growth to move their stock price. no splits or dividends in 10 years. all the growth was in csco first 10 years when you would have gone to 72x the number of shares you started with if you got in before the first split. move along, nothing to see here

I will repeat what i have said elsewhere..... Buffet hates poor people. yeah, great if you got in a long time ago but if you want to get in now you have to be "wealthy" and then you'd likely only be abale to afford 1 share -there goes portfolio diversity-.

if you don't want them, don't use them. what is your complaint exactly? that card companies -issuers really- won't make money by approving a charge that puts a card holder over their limit which results in fees? it is called a limit for a reason and I have yet to hear a reasonable explanation why a card holder would be allowed to go over it without raising their limit. Here is my prediction fiscal q3 2011 card issuers are doing fine. debit cards 2 christmas' 2 summer seasons and oh yeah, an improved economy and those flat screens, coach bags and big watches will be "paid for" with plastic.
cc are better because by law they offer you protections for your purchases. by using a debit card you open yourself up to having the wrong amount taken out of your account with difficulty getting it returned
