  • Obama signs defense bill into law [View news story]
Your nation's enemies and potential enemies, not your spending preferences, determine your defense needs. And, GDP determines your financial capability to secure you and your national interests.

  • Reuters: Lockheed eyeing overhead cuts of up to 30% [View news story]
The defense department spends less than 3% of our GDP, only 17% of our budget, yet is one of the very few constitutionally mandated expenditures. It is worth the cost of what it defends, no more, no less. If you want to defend closer to home, you will get a first hand experience in the battle field. But it will be a hell of lot more expensive.

  • Lockheed to develop mid-range cruise missile for F-35 [View news story]
Yep. Turkey's crescent moon is one of nine flags on the side of the pre-production airplane. They have been slated to get them from the start. They get the plane and they get the magic. SECDEF Gates failed to highlight that little fact when he cancelled the F-22 production to build F-35s didn't he?

  • $15 minimum wage on its way to NY [View news story]
In 1915 Mussolini declared a minimum wage. The anti business Nazi party of the 1920s threw business owners in jail if they did not raise their employees' wages. Early 20th century, Southern Democrat eugenists pushed the minimum wage as a means of cutting blacks out of the work force since businesses would likely cut workers and only hire the best educated. The left still loves the strategy while suddenly denying the outcome. So, here we go again.

Put the least educated out of work. Put them on the dole. Tell them how to vote.

  • How Would Larger Airplanes Impact Alaska Air Group? [View article]
Alaska Airlines has been flying the -900 for some time. In fact, they were the first to do so. Increasing the -900 fleet by simply replacing the much smaller, older, less fuel efficient -400s will give them not only a fuel savings per seat mile but more passenger seat miles per maintenance and flight deck crew as well.

  • Despite Dividend, GM Is Worse Than Ford [View article]

Baloney! Chapter 11 would have saved GM without cheating GMs primary creditors and bilking the US tax payer. A legal process has long been in place for this situation. Obama's business acumen is not superior to that process. It is far inferior. Tell your story to the GM bond holders, who are still in a state of shock.

  • Despite Dividend, GM Is Worse Than Ford [View article]
GM would have declared natural chapter 11 and the bond holders would not have been stiffed. Chapter 11 would not have collapsed the supply chain any more than it was under the socialistic plan that cheated the primary creditors.

  • Why Ford Will Easily Plow Through $25 In 2014 [View article]
In my 50+ years of owning vehicles, both foreign and domestic, the best one I have ever owned and still drive, is my 17 year old F-150. It has never leaked a drop of oil or ever failed to start on the first turn of the key despite operating for years in sub zero temperatures. I want a piece of the company that builds a truck like that.

  • My Take On Ford's Results And Mr. Mulally's Future [View article]

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but F and CSX have pretty near identical dividends of about 2.25+. Also, F is up 70% for the last 12 months and CSX is up 30% for the last 12 months.

  • My Take On Ford's Results And Mr. Mulally's Future [View article]
Mulally isn't going to go to Microsoft. He is a 68 year old man of my generation making beautiful new automobiles. He used to make beautiful, exotic airplanes. He isn't going to leave Ford Motor Company to make software and manage a bunch of eccentric, egocentric computer nerds. That would be his worst nightmare. He is smart enough to ask himself, "Are there jobs I should stay away from?" And, he will know the answer to that question.
