  • Apple: Is It HP All Over Again? [View article]
I think apple shoud buy back stocks because it is a good way to use the cash as the stocks are down and ignore greedy wall street.

  • Production of a cheaper iPhone will likely start in June, says Jefferies' Peter Misek in an afternoon note that's helping Apple (AAPL +0.7%) outperform. Foxconn and Jabil (JBL) are expected to provide plastic cases. Misek and other sell-side analysts have already predicted a less costly iPhone will arrive this year, though some claim its case will use a composite rather than plastic. Meanwhile, Apple received top marks in J.D. Power's U.S. smartphone satisfaction study for the 9th straight time - its score of 855 is slightly above a prior 849, and well above an average of 796. [View news story]
Erc I am an apple fan and I have all apple products and I do not like Samsung. However I disagree that a cheaper phone is the way to go. I'd rather see apple as as innovator and I am somewhat disappointed.

Proliferation as opposed to innovation! How sad!

  • Apple Does Not Have $137 Billion In Cash [View article]
W.S. ever, my understanding from the article is that
It is liquid assets, however if used or w/d before maturity there are penalties, no? Like our IRA and 401k has penalties if early w/d. I guess the $137 will get a considerably lower right?

  • Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.B) has dropped 50% on multiple occasions says Warren Buffett, responding on CNBC to a question about Apple (AAPL). "You can't run a business to make the stock price go up every day," he says, though allowing Apple may have too much cash. Update at 9:07: Expanded comments from Buffett on Apple this morning. [View news story]
Bauer, may be i misunderstood but i think warren buffet was simply saying that berkshire has been in a similar situation where berkshire stock dropped by 50% and yet it came back up. Therefore i believe he is saying that the fact that apple stocks dropped as much as it has is not an indication that apple will not recover and continue going up in the future.

  • How Apple Can Stop The Crazy [View article]
Agree!!! No great quality there mr. pHD.....

I am an apple investor and i am pissed with those who are trying to kill a great company for their self interest. I never agreed with the excessive hipe around apple because i felt that soon or later those building the shares up would tear it down. I see analysts making empty comments regarding apple and the increase in short interest.
The good thing going for the company is their CASH! Can you imagine if apple needed wall street to raise money!
Mr. Cook just INCREASE the R&D and bring another product out to blow everyone's mind away and shut these bears up. Steve jobs was brilliant but not the only brilliant mind.... Find brilliant minds and get it going again....

With this growing cash accumulation and the continuing drop in stock prices apple will soon be able to buy itself out and go private.

  • How Apple Can Reclaim Its Mojo - And $700 Share Price [View article]
I addition, I think that a split in the stock would help as well because it would attract more of small investors.

  • If cutting Apple (AAPL) targets is an Olympic sport, Nomura wins the gold, slashing its price target to $530 from $660, with the analysts proving they read the paper by citing worries over iPhone sales and gross margins. [View news story]
Minutemen, thank you for your question. I should have said rumors and/or unsubstantiated news instead of gossip because that is what i meant to say.

Maybe i lack sophistication to understand what is going on. Right now the market stopped making sense to me. I have no respect for analysts. Market behavior is not rational.... Today the market will shoot a company stock up to the sky... They love love love it for awhile. Suddenly it falls from grace for whatever reason and they shoot it down.

Yes, trouble is that gossip can destroy companies and this is happening before our eyes with apple.
They dont need to provide support to anything they say. Just throw the words to the wind.

I don't understand what is really going on but once again comes another idiot who apparently does not know left from right and cut Apple estimates.
This looks more like dog kill dog fight. One dog attacks and all the other dogs joins in just for the heck of it.
Darn!!! This is really getting sooo old! Tim cook should buy back apple stocks with every single dollar they can afford, after off course allocating handsomely for R&D. If only they had enough Money to privatise apple these idiots would maybe find another company to destroy and give them a breather.

  • Google And Privacy: Part 1 [View article]
I totally agree that privacy is an issue but i also find ludicrous that microsoft is advertising the issue considering that microsoft has always been king in disrespecting users rights by pushing all they could on customers. They were curbed on the abuse but they are no better than anyone else. All business interest. All are really fighting for is market share.

  • Google And Privacy: Part 1 [View article]
I just wanted to say that there is no such s thing of being "Darling" to wall street. Wall street has no allegiance to anything and anyone. Not long ago wall street was killing google even saying that google was dead, that google had no future, etc, etc, etc.
Now the same is happening with Apple, which has fallen from grace.
Now google s back to being "Great!" company.
In actuality both companies never stopped being great. They only fall from grace because there is no much talk about them without true knowledge about what is really going on. Anelysts and the kind make me sick!!!
Jim's strategy never worked for me. I tested his theories several times with several companies and you always loose. I never really bought anything jim recommends, unless i want to buy t for other reasons other than his recommendations.

  • Apple Is Priced For No Growth [View article]
First, thanks for the good article.

Quite a few analyst and reposters can only make negative comments and throw lies in the air makes me sick on my stomach. In my opinion most analysts are idiots who are only right after the fact. They could never get their forecast right. Traders are little nervous thing that the slightest breeze throw them off in fright.
I am so sick of comments about apple stocks. Wall street seems to be trying to destroy a great company with their lousy analysis and fake information like the "one person in line in china".
Apple will not, off course, keep on growing at the same rate forever. It can't happen and it is not realistic.
Wall street has given apple for dead more than twice. Nothing new here and they hate the fact that they are ALWAYS WRONG.
