Good article and some interesting information about Utah. I like the NG investment options even without the move to NG cars. Of the two types you mention I own more of the MLP's because of their very high dividend rates and steady earnings. Instead of CHK stock I like their convertible bonds. In both cases I'm willing to trade big upside for modest (10%+) upside and less volatility.
Don't developers have to pay for the AAPL SDK? And don't they also have to cough up 30% of revenues to Apple? On that basis I would view 100,000 downloads on AAPL as being much more serious and valuable than 5 million of the GOOG freebie. What am I missing?
Think for a second how powerful gasoline is. A single gallon of it will propel me, three other people, all our stuff and my 4000 lb car over a highway for 25miles! Nothing else comes close to the power and portability of gasoline. And most of the world's oil is used for transportation - not power generation. There is a reason every major integrated giant and NOC is willing to bet billions to find and develop oil reserves that are 3 MILES under water and 5 MILES deeper below the sea bed. Smart investors will be making big$ on oil for decades.
