  • Sirius XM Set To Resume Share Buybacks [View article]
CN, As you stated at the time, $3.50 was fair value. Therefore $3.14 is a discount to its fair value and as MUSCLE13 has stated a love fest.

  • Sirius XM Set To Resume Share Buybacks [View article]
CN, It is a lot more difficult to increase earnings per share when the share count is over 6 BILLION shares. SXM has continued to increase its FCF in a substantial manner and with the impending public share buyback about to restart, the earnings per share will increase just on that metric alone.

SXM_Permabull4Life, Many times investors are hesitant to invest in a company that had more than 7B shares. Over the past several years on this board many commenters have made that statement.

CN, Very well enunciated. That is the reason that I am very long siri. What a coincidence for our estimates to coincide. LOL

Sherwyn, The sp of siri was $4.18 less than 5 months ago. Let's see where the sp is 5 months from now before you are unnecessarily argumentative.

CN, SXM has too many outstanding shares and that has been one of the material reasons why the sp is where it is. Share buybacks have the ability to jettison the sp from its present quagmire. Since management probably is on the share buyback trail, it can only help raise the sp. While adding debt is inevitable, the increase in debt for share buybacks will probably be looked on favorably by the market. BTW, very fair and balanced article.

  • Sirius XM: Intrinsic Value $4.48 Per Share, Has 45% Upside Potential [View article]
SXM, No problem and I am pleased that you took it constructively because we should take the opportunity to use this board to help each other (rather than attacking) understand the subject of SXM better.

SXM, FCF Guidance for 2014 is approaching 1.1Billion(not million). The author is talking about the RATIO of FCF to EQUITY.

CN, my recollection is that Mel made the comment about only considering an acquisition that was accretive on several occasions but I am not motivated enough to search for it.

CN, I feel your pain. :). Seriously, this board has people with different backgrounds that require different levels of explanations to be effective. For the most part, you have been very patient in your responses. In fact, I would call it, "your glass runeth over"(probably a yogiism).

DSandman999, When Mel was CEO he stated that SXM would only purchase a company that would be accretive.
The purpose of the amendment to the 5.25% Senior Notes due 2022 is to allow SXM to incur additional debt to be used for share buybacks. By pledging virtually all of its assets to fund the Notes if necessary, it received investment grade ratings from 2 rating agencies which was the contingency that was required to allow SXM to take on more debt to buyback more shares.

CN, Exactly and SXM will use the CVS division to give it the edge.
The 2.0 version is 2 way communication. And since the radio is now being installed in more than 70% of all new vehicles, when the software is available, SXM will have the edge.

DSandman999, In a previous comment, you stated that you did not expect SXM to borrow any more money to fund share buybacks. This modification of the terms of the 5.25% bonds due in 2022 now allows them to borrow more money to fund more share buybacks.
Thanks for answering my question about possible motives for SXM to buy the CSD of Agero which are non accretive. In the past, SXM has stated that it would only purchase a company that was accretive, so time will tell if their position has changed.
