    • A Canadian Power Fund Could Be a Great Place to Hide [view article]
Algonquin is a pick in the Canadian Edge put out by Roger Conrad at KCI Communications. Much of the price action has to do with the Canadian tax law changes in Oct 2006 that will be effective in 2010. All of the Canadian Trusts have been struggling with this for the past 18 months. Roger does a great job of explaining this in Canadian Edge.

What is the unit of measure on your graph. Individual Houses? % of increase in defaults? Thousands of houses? the slope of the increase in foreclosures is probably realistic in many states, but without units of measure it is hard to gauge the $ impact of this issue.

      thanks

    • Financials: Worse Than They Look? [view article]
Barry, Great article. If the Bank of England is correct in saying $ 700 B of subprime loans and $ 600 B of Alt A loans which totals $ 1.3 T, then how do the major financials have an exposure of $ 4.1T. This is a particularly interesting question since the major financials you mentioned have only a portion of the world wide exposure?

Thanks for your many insightful articles
