Amazing that after all of the presumed foolish moves detailed above, IBM's profits continue to climb quarter after quarter. And the dividend continues to keep going up 10% every year.

Having grown up in Pennsylvania, I have serious doubts about solar energy ever being effective there. While the old saw about the two seasons there being winter and the 4th of July was a bit of an exaggeration, there was very little sun I ever saw there. Florida it is not.

While I have several alternative energy investments, I think your rant is a bit over the top. Could it be that people push coal, oil, gas, etc. because there is no practical alternative over the next couple of decades? Or do you support a return to the 1800's until alternative energy becomes practical (and affordable)?
