  • Coca-Cola's 20 Brands With Over $1 Billion Annual Revenue: Future Growth Analysis [View article]
Very good and fact based article... nice work.

The most overlooked and perhaps under appreciated asset for this company
    is its global distribution system.

Coca-Cola's ability to procure raw materials, produce finished products, distribute those products, and finally market and merchandise the product is unequaled.

That is the greatest comfort for me as a shareholder... the distribution infrastructure alone makes the "barriers to entry" practically insurmountable.

It makes for a great nights sleep...

  • Coca-Cola: It Is Time To End The FIFA Sponsorship [View article]
Albert, I respectfully disagree with your assertion that Coca-Cola should end the long standing association with FIFA.. That would be a big mistake... The commenters above have done a very nice job pointing out the reasons... I will not be redundant.
Soccer is an afterthought here but clearly not so shareholders we do NOT want to lose this significant asset outside the U.S.... Particularly in emerging markets.

  • Coca-Cola: Propped Up By Interest Rates, But For How Long? [View article]
Two of the Bottler realignment moves were announced this morning... both excellent moves..

This has been in the works for several years and is now coming to fruition.. this Bottler realignment initiative is a MUCH bigger deal than most outside the industry can imagine.

For everyone that is long KO... this is very, very good for our company both intermediate and long term... Though I am no longer active in the company, I am VERY pleased that the project has been formalized and now being implemented.. it has been several years in the making and has been a very complex process, lots of moving parts.... the company took the time to do it right...

Retail customers have been asking for this and are very excited.. will make local marketing much more efficient.. and after all, in reality, giant Coca-Cola is actually a very local, face to face, transaction to transaction business.. A massive collection of individual, simple moments of refreshment and enjoyment.

  • Buffalo Wild Wings misses by $0.11, misses on revenue [View news story]
    Bring back Coca-Cola...

You have an outstanding product, great concept, fun environment... first rate all the way... and then switch to the #2 soft drink?

The idea was to leverage pepsi's NFL agreement to BWW's benefit, plus pepsi is almost always "cheaper" than Coca-Cola... that always sounds exciting conceptually, but you can't forget the consumer when making these plans.

Beer is certainly the main focus for the model, but many do choose soft drinks, and based on consumer feedback to the company, that switch was a bigger deal than anticipated.

Not suggesting this is the reason for today's miss, but it doesn't help.

Yes, I am clearly biased in my business case for Coca-Cola, but that doesn't make the comments any less true...

If you believe that the U.S. will fully commit to energy independence then no, you have definitely not missed the boat... The boat is just now being loaded.

  • Coca-Cola Could Be Starting A Turnaround With Stronger Q1 Results [View article]
Rockville... Coca-Cola owned several wine companies in the 70's.. sold them in the early 80's...

Use of the "non-alchoholic beverage" tag is only a business segment catagorization as myliu suggested... it is not any type of unique commentary or message from the company other than to accurately describe what it does..

  • Coca-Cola beats by $0.06, beats on revenue [View news story]
Thanks for your comment 17741882... Yes, I do like and respect the company very much... I worked at every level of the company, excluding the very top senior positions... and I worked "with" them. That career included locations all around the country and some international locations.

I can't imagine a company more consistently committed to its shareholders, employees, and contributing support to local communities...

I understand there is significant discontent with Senior leadership, mostly based on the executive compensation plan that was widely discussed last year.. I respect that opposition.

Coca-Cola has been, is, and always will be much greater than any individual...

The respect I have for the company was earned, had it not been, I would readily say so...

    All the best friend..!

  • Strong pricing boosts Coca-Cola in Q1 [View news story]
surgeon, Coke Zero was developed specifically for you and your buddies...

Active, sport loving males that enjoy an occasional soft drink but might not prefer diet Coke..

The graphics, marketing, product placement, and flavor profile were created based on feedback from your demographic...

    * The composite feedback- We want a zero calorie offering that has a similar flavor profile as Coca-Cola Classic but is a little edgier (by Coke standards) haha, involved with pro and college athletics, and doesn't "look" like my mom's diet Coke..

Hope you have a great day..!

  • The Coca-Cola Company Announces Additional Letters of Intent with U.S. Bottling Partners [View article]
This is very good news and a long time coming...

Retail partners across the country have been calling for this for several years and are giving a collective "thumbs up" this morning... these new territory agreements allign more closely with major regional retailers which greatly streamlines promotional activity.

Obviously, there are a lot of moving parts that had to be worked out with all the franchises...and just the sheer geography of it all.. it takes time to do these things right.. it appears the company has done so.

Nice job, now let's execute the plan!

  • Coca-Cola beats by $0.06, beats on revenue [View news story]
The company has done a good job developing/buying brands to compete in the emerging categories... more cool stuff in the pipeline too.

I understand the folks that have waited to buy KO, wishing to see some new growth, but honestly those that have shorted Coca-Cola...that has to be the nuttiest idea ever...

As I told my teams for many years... "With you or me, or without you and me, the Big Red Ball will keep on bouncing down the road"
