I feel the same way SSF. I don't want the government to give me anything either. I think the more they give the lazier people become, motivation to succeed is lost, there is a lack of ownership and pride, and there is less personal creativity.

dbell, just out of curiosity, what do you think if they would have done nothing? Could we have seen a faster correction? or do you think it would have been worse?

Seriously, are you whining in front of everyone? Don't trade if you don't know how..RAF isn't your broker you know...

Why would you use your tuition money for investing in the first place?? If you don't have it to lose, you shouldn't be here anyway.

  • Yet Another Sirius XM Earnings Review: Q1 2010 [View article]
To me it seems that the analysts don't necessarily like to hear "increase in subs due to an increase in auto sales." I may be wrong, but it seems that they want to see/hear an increase in sales that aren't so dependent on auto sales. Anyone else have an opinion on that? I'm curious because it seems like many analysts beat Siri up on that point.

btw, who wouldn't have loved to buy P&G at just under $38 today and then have it bounce right back? I wonder how that gets handled if there was an electronic error? Does anyone know?

It was historical! There were people around me panicked to sell whatever they were holding as I was looking to see what I could buy during the blue light special on Wall Street. :)

True, true SSF. I just don't see the point in freaking out. Siri is $1 and change right now. I promise that if you stick a $1 in box and keep it there for 30 years, and buy one share of Siri the exact same day, you'll be happier with that stock then you will be with that 30 year old $1. So I'm more than happy to take my junky $1 bill in exchange for a share of siri any day of the week (even if siri is at .86 for a day, it won't be for long and I can't say the same for my $1 bill)

Yep, looks like someone on a trading desk made a boo boo which triggered automated sells all around. If the whole thing crashes I'll just keep buying, someone somewhere is getting rich off of everyone's fear; they're not going to get rich off of me.

Keep your panties on Beefy. Guys, we see this every three weeks or so, its nothing new! Lets not be little girls about this. We were over a dollar then back down to .86 (ish) and back over a dollar and have been sitting here over a dollar for 16 days now, so why the nervousness? We're talking .10 here, and we always bounce back anyway. Give it some time (longer than two down days)

I agree with your comment above RAF. I swear the same thing happened after Q4 reports but here we are over $1.

I agree on avoiding government bashing, and political preference can be a touchy subject. No harm no foul. Have a great rest of the trading week. :)

Come on rsaintvilus, giving a thumbs down for that general statement? The title of the article here read "Equities Update: Worst One-Day Drop in 3 Months as U.S. Joins Global Slide" so this is not solely a "Siri" forum. To be blind to the global economy and how it affects our investments and the market as a whole is, in my opinion, a contradiction to what you've so poetically stated in your comment to Scooter, " when investing money it is usually best that one always sees clearly and refrain from using words that suggests the closing of the eyes as you will likely lose sight of any signs of warnings."

I don't see any reason to snub concerns over the global economic situation as it affects us all whether you like it or not. I also don't see any reason to help incite fear concerning our positions in Siri, the whole market has gone down, the vix is up, nothing has changed where siri is concerned, the company is stronger, Q1 reports were good, so ride the wave like we always do...we go down, we go up, but we don't bottom out. Relax a little. Every time the stock dips, I see people freaking out as if it's headed back to .05/share. Let's not get so "tunnel visioned" that we don't take into account everything else that's going on around us.
