Again Mr. Market Timing msmlies, sorry that I misspelled it before. Again I offer you the Ouija Board for your efforts to time "True Capitulation": http;//bit.ly/12Ni1tz! Good luck and don't wait too long for those numbers to make sense and the planets to align. LOL

Good move Moses, just be prepared for the Negativism the surrounds AAPL on SA. Then you will see the benefits of owning part of a great company.

Doc, let me get this straight, all major shareholders want some kind of allocation of cash from AAPL to go towards dividends, buy backs etc. Warren Buffet advises a buy back. The sentiment on Wall Street is on Tim Cooks side, and you call a buy back risky.

AAPL is generating what around 30 billion a quarter and as others point out, paying out 1.5% for a loan is better in the long run than 3.05 per share in dividends. Plus, the fact that buy back certainly are viewed by investors that the company is showing their confidence in the company... still searching for "risky buy back."

I as an AAPL shareholder am happy with the actions of AAPL at the quarterly earnings report and am glad that we no longer suffer from "voodoo" SJ financial engineering, after all the run up really started after SJ's death! Never the less I came in early to the AAPL phenomenon, around $167.00 for the long term.

msmiles and once before the ascendency of AAPL to 700. Guess you shorted all the way to the top, if AAPL should have and would have gone lower, delusional thinking triumphs there too. Keep on shorting after TC is stumping the pros! Again, just for you:

HarryK, ala Forest Gump, "Stupid is as stupid does." Don't expect shorts to change until the stock takes another dive. I am with your view however. Very little risk in owning AAPL.

Yeah NLO, now it's up to TC and all the rest of AAPL shareholders to bully the media etc! I'm up for that! My thought though is that TC is finally moving into the era of manipulating and creating a more Wall Street friendly market. If all this maneuvering is successful, the author will no longer be back to a long position in AAPL.

I really appreciate your sense of dry wit. Yeah Warren, here's a person I don't know think I will follow his/her advice.

  • David Einhorn likes Apple's (AAPL) feisty share buyback : "We applaud Apple's decision to borrow money and return excess capital to shareholders, an idea that was off the table only months ago. This positive development represents a more shareholder friendly capital allocation policy and demonstrates the conviction of Apple's management and board in the Company's future." [View news story]
No Herr know it all, I just remember being afraid to sell Samsung in the day, as half of all sets sold were returned for one reason or another. Unfortunately your post does not ring true as many AAPL buyers are returning to buy again and again. It's called owner loyalty and is great for marketing.

What is the problem here. AAPL is a very good company that is not going away anytime soon, has a boat load of cash and is learning to play the Wall Street game.

  • Tim Cook (AAPL) on the five-inch smartphone: "Our competitors have made some significant trade-offs in many of these areas in order to ship a larger display. We would not ship a larger display iPhone while these trade-offs exist." He adds that if IDC's right, the smartphone market declined 30% since December, so Apple's decline of 15% beat the market. [View news story]
CC, They haven't? Tell that to the courts! So you are saying Google infringed on AAPL patents? I am sure the lawyers at AAPL would love to hear that.

All in good time my dear TC, all at the correct time. Or I will sell my AAPL shares. Bye the way what makes you thing Jobs would have done things differently?
