I am high tech veteran that has gone on to be a small business owner. I have been an investor for 30 years. I started out in mutual funds but didn't like the taxable distributions every year. With good research one can stay in the top 20% fund groups. I switched to managing my own portfolio in 2008. I have increased my return with stocks. I've done well by buying stocks with good fundamentals at a discount. I have a finance degree and a CFP although my career has always been in high tech in sales or executive management. That is until I bought my own business. Currently, I am always on the lookout for strong companies that are not appreciated by the market. I am also transitioning some of my portfolio to income. I like LINE and PVR and I am educating myself on other ways of diversifying to an income portfolio. I really appreciate the comments section where the exchange of ideas has been very informative.
