EU and Industry join forces to invest additional €1.4 billion in research and innovation on Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology

    Dear Joe,

The European Commission, EU Member States and European industry announced this month that they will invest €1.4 billion over the next seven years in research and innovation partnerships for Hydrogen and Fuel Cell technology with the private sector and Member States under the programme Horizon 2020. These research partnerships will boost the competitiveness of EU industry in five Public-Private Partnerships, called "Joint Technology Initiatives" (JTIs). The Fuel Cell and Hydrogen (FCH) Joint Undertaking is one of five proposed research and innovation partnerships under Horizon 2020 and builds upon the success of the first generation of the programme from 2008-2013.

Hydrogenics applauds the European Commission's proposal to renew and strengthen the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen (FCH) Joint Undertaking. Hydrogenics is a proud member of the New Energy World Industry Grouping (NEW-IG), the leading European industrial association working within the FCH to accelerate the market deployment of fuel cells and hydrogen technologies.

Europe continues to demonstrate that fuel cells and hydrogen technologies are a key element of its energy strategy. The EU needs to secure long-term clean energy supplies and reduce greenhouse gas emissions from its energy and transport sectors. Hydrogenics will continue to support these initiatives through participation by our manufacturing and technology centres. Growing demand in Europe has led Hydrogenics to expand its electrolysis manufacturing plant in Belgium and doubled the size of its PEM fuel cell and energy storage facility in Germany.

Further proof of a larger contract and compound growth for hygs on the horizon

    http://bit.ly/1dr6vjn

now instead of quoting 100mw projects which would be fantastic... Daryl has "put out there" 32mw system would cost 35m. Also the fact that hygs is working on scaling up systems of 40mw and beyond. The fruition of the Vision partnership with 100 trucks ordered and the relationship now with rubber tyre gantry for cranes broadens our scope.

The secondary to me was good news, as Daryl stated previously to the effect that it would only happen to stay on top of the acceleration of the energy storage business. Hoping for a 5-10mw order soon and ebitda positive by quarter 2. gl fellow longs.

  • Hydrogenics - Near Term Profitability And Huge Upside [View instapost]
Hello. My name is Joe Elchert and I have been following hydrogenics since early 2008. Very glad to see your coverage Joe. Ty. I believe once an institution or 2 get involved here we will see the market cap multiply especially when we see a profit. I was hope full for a profit in Q2 but love the possibility of Q1 like you say.
