  • BlackBerry Smoke Over Waterloo Ontario [View article]
George, a very thought provoking article!

I believe Samsung has lot to gain on consumer/business/govt. side. I am sure google would not allow that to happen as there is too much at stake. Samsung's best hope is to partner with another company to buy bb.

I see this to be a big battle between google and Samsung. The other company that makes sense to me would be msft who has great presence in corporate/govt and is struggling in mobile space.

If I was on BOD, offer from one of these companies would be only acceptable.

  • BlackBerry-Eroding What's Left Of Shareholder Value [View instapost]
Kurt, I believe BBRY management had no choice but to strike a deal with PW. Without this deal, BBRY would have gone under given the bad Q2 results and constant pressure from US to bring the company and stock down.

I am of the opinion that there is conspiracy to bring BBRY down so that US company can buy it or eliminate it as a competition. I believe this deal gives BBRY chance to survive.

  • Assessing The Fallout From The BlackBerry Disaster [View article]
I believe BBRY management choice was to GIVE IT AWAY to PW or go down. I am disappointed that there was no other offer.

For the first time, I am thinking selling my shares now instead of waiting for privacy deal or any other deal. I guess I will take $2/share profit while I can.

  • Making Sense Of The BlackBerry Takeover Talk [View article]
George, good article! I agree that there is lot of noise. I believe bbry should do a partnership/licensing deal with Samsung and continue to pursue their current strategy (phase 2).

From shareholders point of view it makes no sense to go private or sell the company at dirt cheap price given bbry has such great potential.

  • BlackBerry jumps on fresh Lenovo rumors [View news story]
It is hard for me to believe US companies will miss the opportunity to get into Enterprise/Gov. business. If there is no deal with US company, BBRY may get into a partnership with Lenovo or Samsung.

  • Don't Look The BlackBerry Gift Horse In The Mouth [View article]
    George, interesting article!

I am long bbry and was wondering what forced bbry to make the announcement to explore strategy that includes selling. They must have some sort of offer that they want to evaluate against what others are willing to offer.

George, What is your take. Thanks

  • Avoid A Sale - 100% Undervalued: BlackBerry's Potential Playbook [View article]
In my opinion, the challenge for bbry has been lack of funding, the main reason they have not been able to market the bb10 products. I believe they will most likely get this funding from Canadian investors. They will have to assess any licensing/hardware deal with Samsung or any offer to purchase from USA. Only an offer from google to buy bbry makes sense to me.

  • BlackBerry - Takeover And Going Private Are The Only Good Options Left [View article]
The most likely scenario would be for bbry to go private. Even though Samsung acquisition makes lot of sense from Samsung perspective, I don't see that happening due to security concerns (govt). I wonder if there is any chance google may buy bbry?

  • Short Blackberry (After It Doubles) [View article]
Great article, coming from a former short. I agree that bbry stock will do well in fy2013. Beyond that it gets a bit foggy. I believe there is lot good news yet to come. I bought bbry in fall of 2012 and am planning to hold it until at least August 2013 and will evaluate it further at that time. I believe bbry will really take off when bes10 is unleashed to business/govt.

I agree that the stock is expensive. Looking at their recent acquisitions (crm, etc.), my take is that they are going after b2b networking. I see this company doing well but will wait for stock drop further and pick it up some time in 2013. I like their CEO and board of directors.

What are the downside of the company other than high stock price?

  • It's Time For Apple To Buy BlackBerry [View article]
I agree with the author. I believe aapl need to upgrade iOS and bbry offers latest and the greatest os. Aapl offers best user experience that combined with bbry os and vision would be best in class portfolio. I am impressed with bbry CEO and would not mind if he runs the combined company.

I would hate to see msft buy bbry. I am not impressed with msft product quality. Msft will benefit from bbry acquisition by having solid security and improve enterprise/govt business.

  • 5 Stocks With Solid Upside To Buy On Weakness [View article]
David, I own SIRI (purchased at 58 cent/share) but have been thinking of selling them after Q1 result announcement. It seems number of companies including AAPL and BBRY (QNX) will soon be hitting this space. I know SIRI had advantage as far as contents are concerned.

The main reason for Holding or Buying SIRI would be acquisition. What do you thing? Is there any driver for growth for SIRI?

  • BlackBerry Could Be This Year's Winner [View article]
A very good article, one of rare data based analysis. I really enjoyed it.

I believe the good news will come in Q1 and when they announce licensing deal for low price device for BB10 (far east). I don't anticipate BBRY acquisition in 2013. I do believe MSFT may be the best candidate to acquire as they do have strong business/govt. presence.
