  • A Calendar Spread Strategy To Capitalize On Apple's Expected Announcement Next Wednesday [View article]
Thank you very much for your suggestions. The chart was a bit hard to follow, however. Could you lay out the spreads (i.e. the long and short call side by side so I can actually see them. e.g. "Bought Sept 675 call and sold Sept 14 call for a net debit of X."

Why not also sell an ITM put, which I know requires coverage and also increases the bullishness of the trade.

What is the column Exp? Sept 12 and Oct 12 are listed in this column, but I'm not sure what those dates signify. The expiration date for Sept is on the 14th, not the 12th.

And finally, if the IV is going to fall after the announcement, and the extrinsic value of the option as well, what is the best strategy if one is holding naked Sept and Oct calls? Trading up for January calls? Also, although the extrinsic value of the Sept and Oct calls will fall along with the IV, won't this more than be made up for by the increase in intrinsic value?

Please excuse these questions if they seem naive. I'm just a beginner.

"O'Dull's" comments certainly put form over substance.
