  • Sprint's Troubles Continue To Mount [View article]
No position as an investor, however I wish Sprint the best and hope they pull though. I switched from VZ to Sprint last year, cutting my bill in half. The service is great and I'm glad they are putting the screws to VZ and T on price (TMobile isn't available here).

  • American Realty Capital declares $0.08333 dividend [View news story]
Wish I had available funds to average down more but the DRIP is wonderful at these levels :)

  • American Realty won't report Q3 until January [View news story]
A panic at the open will make my DRIP go a little further today, I'll take it.

  • Why Am I Confident Seadrill Limited Will Cut The Dividend? [View article]
You could do this trade on KO at $40 strike and net $.32/share. Do you expect the dividend to be cut?

  • New SodaStream strategy: Let's talk water [View news story]
After reviewing the growth plan I must say I do like the refreshed look and new products. Time will tell if the general consumer market shares that opinion.

  • What Have We Really Lost? [View article]
Good article and you summed it up nicely. To me this seams obvious, but to many it appears to not be. Sure if you may need the money in the short term you should have a different strategy or maybe should have invested that money in the first place, but long term I always see opportunities and not losses when the market heads south.

PS: Your comment replies on this article are fantastic.

  • Now Is Not The Time To Sell Seadrill And Transocean [View article]
Lol wut? That doesn't even make sense. The majors are down sure, but not a fire sale. I picked up a little more COP, but I am much more excited about the extra SDRL I grabbed.

  • Update: American Realty Capital Properties Closes Sale Of Shopper Center Portfolio [View article]
My share count is much smaller than yours but I upped my position specifically so I could receive whole shares each month, right now about 1.5. The longer this price stays depressed, the more shares I will have when it does move up. I've got time.

  • The Good, The Bad And The Ugly Of Falling Oil Prices [View article]
I own $SDRL and have added shares recently. They were north of 18% yield at one point. Mgmt has vowed the dividend is good though 2015, however, if or when they cut I think that could be a big positive for share price. I think a 50% cut to the dividend would cause a knee-jerk reaction and plunge the shares 5-10%, but I think that would quickly reverse. I'm not as familiar with $RIG, but it could be a similar situation.

Buy and hold. You could gamble with it, but not the best for that.

  • Seadrill: Price Capitulation Is Near [View article]
I don't think a cut would be the worst thing in the world. PBI cut their dividend a few years back by 50% and it caused the stock price to go from $15 to $25 over the next year. Nothing wrong with having a 7.5% YOC (after a hypothetical cut), and a 60-70% share price gain. If SDRL did pivot and say it was going to lighten up on the dividend to focus on debt I think mr. market would be ecstatic.

  • Carbonite: A Business Model Transition, An Activist Investor And An Undervalued Acquisition Candidate [View article]
I was intrigued at the start but I see this as a commodity business that Amazon is playing in. The small business I work for uses AWS for out server storage back up, and I think it costs us under $4/mo. That's peanuts.

  • Don't Panic, Grab Seadrill Out Of The Bargain Bin Instead [View article]
Completely agree. I added more at $26.58 which put the yield north of 15% for me. If mgmt stays true to their word and keeps the dividend here though 2015, I'll have a good chunk of my position "paid for" already. If they have to cut, I envision a PBI scenario where the market finally breathes a sigh of relief and the stock price moves up as a result.
