RhodeIslandRed, I agree wholeheartedly with your comments. But it's not just LDK, or Chinese companies that the SEC allows to be abused by the likes of Barrons. This crap goes on all the time. Think of it - there wasn't enough corruption in the market, the hedge funds didn't have enough advantage, so the SEC felt it wise to kill the uptick rule for shorting. Sad to say the markets are corrupt to the core, beginning with our government's refusal to create a fair and level playing field, and are stacked against the little guy. May God have mercy on this nation.

Also, at several locations, including right here, the Submit button doesn't work. I'm now trying a resend using IE7 rather than FF.

On my email alerts page the My Tags list does not correspond to the the bottom table which lists the alerts I am receiving as they happen, and I am not receiving alerts for the names in the My Tags list that are not in the lower table.

Then, I can't seem to get to my account. I used the forgotten password form but nothing has been sent to my mailbox. So I'm stuck.]]>

One question - I consistently receive the "Premarket Snapshot" at least two hours after the market opens. This is not true of the WS Breakfast mailing. Something seems wrong there.

Thanks,

Amylin Pharmaceuticals: Not Worth $6.22 Billion http://seekingalpha.com/article/42489-amylin-pharmaceuticals-not-worth-6-22-billion?source=feed#comment-92188 92188
Nonetheless, Amylin has been badly mismanaged. A tremendous market opportunity for Byetta was squandered. Marketing has been beyond inept. Yet while income has been thus hampered, growth plans have good ahead full tilt. Secondaries and convertibles abound, eclipsed only by the lavish perennial incentive options.

In short, the intermediate term has been mortgaged in hopes of future greatness. That could still come about, but management demonstrated a bad inability to sell the wonderful drugs they already have. The only thing I can say good about the co at this juncture is the R&D, top-class in the metabolic space. Hopefully the science will prevail, but it will take time.]]>

Whole Foods' Mackey: Eat Meat, But Don't Go http://seekingalpha.com/article/41523-whole-foods-mackey-eat-meat-but-don-t-go?source=feed#comment-91558 91558
The difference between a Mackey and a Bezos is one of morality. Mackey was using his knowledge to push down OATS price by belittling it, until such time he could buy the co himself. That's a violation of ethics for someone running a public company. On good news about two years ago, I took a position in OATS. But when I read Mackey's very convincing incognito screeds, I quickly abandoned it. OATS went on to make more gains.

Yes, I should rely on my own research, but it's naive to think someone with Mackey's articulation cannot influence investors to their harm.

It was only sex in the oval office, eh?
