Just as a note to that Mr. Kennedy would only be getting paid a penny a page for his writings is way wrong. Actually the famous writer Robert Ervin Howard the author of Conan the Barbarian got paid a penny a line if he was lucky for most of his writings back in the 1930's until he died in Cross Plains, Texas in 1936. Robert Ervin Howard was a prolific writer. For me I enjoy Mr. Kennedy's thoughtful insight regarding PSEC. I am long PSEC.

  • Gold is marking time today after a big 3-month run, but the RBA's surprise overnight rate cut makes it the latest central bank entry in a race to devalue currencies, and one wonders if the PBOC won't be far behind. Gold remains a currency no central bank can print "with a keystroke," says Janney's Mark Luschini, remaining bullish on the metal.  [View news story]
Where is William H. Seward when we really need him. He is the guy who bought Alaska and got all the gold and got all the oil. He paid 7.2 million for Alaska in 1867.

Thank you for the information and the read between the lines. I am long FSC and bought additional stock on 09/11/12 at 10.73. Good observation on your part for reading the newsletter as it gives additional background on the leveraged buyout markets. It also seems like CEO Leonard Tannenbaum is a firm believer in FSC as he is always buying shares.

  • UMH Properties - Diversify Your Portfolio With This Attractive Amenity Package  [View article]
    Hi Brad:
I have owned both UMH and MNR in the past and have been quite pleased. But I never knew that UMH had invested or loaned approx. 15 million to MNR. Both companies were started by the same person and both are still run by him. You make a good point about most of the UMH mobile home parks being located in the Marcullus Shale Region, I hadn't thought about that. Right now I don't own either UMH or MNR.
    Thanks Pat
