  • SPX Has The Lead, With Gold A Close Second

Back in 2009, both SPX and GOLD started the year at $900.

Move forward in time and Shazaam, both are up nicely. But what

pairs traders are finding is that the bias has now changed back

    to paper assets.

Who in their right mind would buy paper assets with hard? Why would

they with so much believable logic in the marketplace

    supporting precious metals?

It's all about the greed, sell the expensive asset and buy the

    cheaper, you know, logic.

Posted below is a chart of long SPX and short GOLD. Enjoy

  • Coming Collapse In Juniors, Miners And Energy

In the early 1980's I used to get a publication called, "Penny Stock News" and you could buy miners and energy 'units' for about $2.50 a unit. (You have to remember though, stocks had been a dead asset since Led Zep I came out.) These juniors were all hiding in and on the AMEX exchange. I remember the phone calls, the hard sells, so I could get myself a piece of a well or a mine.

Fast forward to today and Deja Vu all over again, except this time there will be no toe stubbing. I came across a longer look of the AMEX Index and what we've seen so far is only the foreplay of what will hit oils and metals.

Remember its ok to be the first one to leave a party, you can go home and lay on the couch and watch 'Backyard Oil' Barrons.

  • Half Priced Beef

Over the many decades of being around markets, I've heard many a sayings. I learned that typically live cattle bottoms in years ending in 5. Currently there are just a couple of commodities still hanging on to the ghost of the secular bull market there and live cattle is one of them. I'm expecting a bounce in cattle with a lower DXY early next week. Try to short into the seasonal weakness via the October contract.
