  • Equity CEFs: THE Most Undervalued Equity CEF [View article]
On second thought, the option premium collected will be characterized as short term gain. So they are just distributing premium collected from selling options without ROC unlike CEFs with high distribution rate (~9%).

  • Equity CEFs: THE Most Undervalued Equity CEF [View article]
UNII will tell if a CEF will hike or cut distribution. What is NIE's current UNII?

Also any chance of special year end dividend given up market this year?

I guess NIE did not sell a lot of covered calls this year to captiaize on equity market rise. This explains higher NAV performance and short term gain distribution.

  • Bill Gross Sees Value In Depressed Closed-End Funds [View article]
Food for thought... Mr. Gross is almost 70 yrs old with $2B+ net worth. He does not need to take risks with the likes of PDI, PCI, PTY... Just drinking his own koolaid I guess...

  • Bill Gross Sees Value In Depressed Closed-End Funds [View article]
    George,

Mr. Gross is a little late with his investments. If he was convinced US was not going to default and benchmark rate was headed down, then he would have bought prior to no taper announcement. I guess he was waiting for confirmation before commitment just like everyone else.

Your data on PCI above is outdated. Current leverage is 35%.

    Total Effective Leverage Contribution
    Preferred Shares (4) 0.00%
    Reverse Repurchase Agreements (5) 21.36%
Floating Rate Notes Issued (6) 0.00%
    Credit Default Swaps (7) 13.89%

  • CEF Investors: Your Window Of Opportunity Is Beginning To Close [View article]
I don't think window of opportunity will be closing on the likes of PCI and DSL which went from premium to discount. Year end tax loss selling will keep these CEFs under selling pressure.

    Michael,

What was your risk management strategy of your dynamic CEF portfolio during the Treasury default risk period (last two weeks)? How much cash did you raise?

Also, how many of your stop loss orders got triggered during the CEF correction?

Don't confuse tracking and invasion of your privacy, i.e. user profiling, with AI. I'm not sure scanning your email for keywords and sending target ads qualifies for AI.

I get SeekingAlpha email on by gmail account. Google is sending me penny stock ads to my gmail account. How is that for the DEEP LEARNING AI?

Google NOW is a joke too.

  • Stocks slide on shutdown jitters, but selling is orderly [View news story]
I don't understand why the market is down in light of this positive development. Gov shutdown is bullish. This means QE will go on longer. Be ready for a powerful relief rally on news that continuing resolution has passed.
